My Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! Testing new Strategies with DJINN MUIRAT

Hello guys, this is my entry to the "Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!". If you want to participate and/or read more about the challenge, click here.

We are in the middle of another fun season and as always I am looking to gain more knowledge about monsters and make new strategies with them. This week, we are focusing on a legendary unit called DJINN MUIRAT. First thing first, I love the artwork of this monster.

I have been using it for a while now but never talked about it so let's talk about its stats in detail.

Djinn Muirat is a legendary Death unit which came out in the chaos legion edition. It is one of the best tanks in death splinter and comes out with various useful abilities which improve both its attacking and defensive capabilities.

I had a level 2 which deals 2 magic damage and comes with a very useful 8 hp and 4 armour on its own. This armour is very powerful as it comes with a Void Armor ability that soaks even the magic damage. And these factors make it a perfect tank in the game.

As it is a magic attacker it can be used in second position as a secondary tank when we have a lot of mana to spare. It also comes with Knock Out and Giant Killer which makes it a good attacker as well.

My Lineup

This is my lineup for the battle

Position
Summoner/Monsters
Abilities
Summoner
Thaddius Brood
-1 magic attack, -1 health
Position 1
Djinn Muirat
Void Armor, Knock Out, Giant Killer
Position 2
Cthulhu
Cripple, Flying, Stun
Position 3
Magi of Chaos
No abilities
Position 4
Venari Bonesmith
Life Leech
Position 5
Uraeus
Sneak
Position 6
Spirit Hoarder
Triage, Dispel

It was only a 40-mana battle and had the standard ruleset.

It was very restrictive as we only had Fire and Death elements active during this battle. However, the standard ruleset made it much easier for me.

I used the Thaddius Brood as my summoner which can take away 1 magic attack and 1 health from the enemy stats.

In the first position, I used the Djinn Muirat. As I stated earlier, it is one of the best tanks in this element. However, it cost 9 mana and since I had a 40 mana cap I was comfortable with that. It comes with three very useful abilities namely: Void Armor, Knock Out and Giant Killer. All these abilities make it a balanced card. It has 4 armour on its own which provide good protection during the battle.

In the next position, I used the Cthulhu as it deals with heavy magic damage and comes with incredible stats and abilities. It is one of the expensive units costing 11 mana but it comes with 12 health so I can use it as a supplementary tank. Also, it comes with three abilities: cripple, flying and stun which works beautifully with my tank.

Next was the Magi of Chaos, it is a good neutral unit doing 3 magic damage and costing only 6 mana. It doesn't come with any abilities but its damage and health alone make it a good unit for my lineup.

In the next position, I placed the Venari Bonesmith, another mage that deals only 1 magic attack and costs only 4 mana. It has a relatively lower health of 4 but comes with an interesting Life Leech ability which makes it last much longer during any battle.

In the fifth position, I used the Uraeus. This was the only melee attacker in my lineup. It is a cheap unit costing just 3 mana but comes with Sneak ability which can surprise my opponent since players generally use lower health monsters at the back of their lineups, especially in lower leagues.

Last but not least, was Spirit Hoarder. It is yet another magic attacker which costs just 3 mana and dealt only 1 magic attack. But it comes with two interesting abilities called Triage and Dispel. This one only had 3 health so I had to protect it further but I overlooked that and used it in the last position anyways.

Now that my lineup was set, it was time for battle.

I will share my battle here, which I have uploaded to YouTube.

My Strategy

I had 40 mana to utilize so I went in with strong tanks at the front of the lineup. I used Djinn Muirat and Cthulhu in the first and second position respectively in my lineup and they had ample health and protection.

My focus was to overwhelm my opponent with heavy magic damage and that's why I used 5 magic attackers out of 6. I had weaker units at the end of my lineup but I focused more on getting attacking strength.

I used a heavy magic attack while focusing on targeting units at the back. Uraeus helped me attack the enemy back line which tends to be much weaker than the front.

Round 1

My opponent went with Fire element and focused more on melee attackers which was better for me as I used two heavy tanks at the front of the lineup. they used the Living Lava and Ferox Defender as their tanks.

My back line was weaker and my opponent got rid of my Spirit Hoarder early in the game. But my units came back strongly and eliminated their powerful tank Living Lava by the end of round 1. I consider it a small victory.

Round 2 & 3

Round 2 saw the demise of another strong tank from my enemy lineup, the Ferok Defender. Its armour was useless against my mages and that was very unfortunate for my opponent.

My Uraeus got eliminated at the start of round 3 by Tenyii Striker while their Disintegrator at the front of the lineup was eliminated easily by my units. It was looking like an easy win for me by the end of round 3.

Round 4 & 5

Finally my Djinn Muirat got eliminated but it did its job beautifully and stood there for three rounds which was very impressive.

My Chuthlu was now at the front and my opponent had no chance to get rid of this, it had a massive 12 hp and looked like an impossible task for them. As expected, my opponent's units crumbled one after the other giving me an easy win at the end.

Conclusion

Djinn Muirat is a strong and useful unit which can be very handy as a tank and as it deals with magic attacks it can be even used anywhere in the lineup. It is a fantastic defender as well as an attacker. In the above battle, it survives for an entire three rounds. Its abilities make it a powerful attacker.

The Void armour ability is very useful against magic attackers. It comes with a 9 mana costs and can be difficult to use in low-range mana battles.
