THEME: CRUEL SETHROPOD

*Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: COMMON
Element: WATER
Attack: MELEE

I will share my battle here, which I have uploaded to 3speak.

My Lineup and Strategy

This is my lineup for the battle

PositionSummoner/MonstersAbilities
SummonerKeyla Frendul+1 Speed, +1 Shield
Position 1Cruel SethropodNo Ability
Position 2DiemonsharkTrample
Position 3Flying SquidReach
Position 4DeeplurkerOpportunity
Position 5Sniping NarwhalSnipe
Position 6Giant SquidNo Ability

This was a 99 mana cost battle, I used the Keyla Frendul as my summoner which gave an extra speed and shield point to all my monsters. And it was a standard game with no modifications to the ruleset.

I used the Cruel Sethropod in the first position as it has decent defensive capabilities. I used it as a less sturdy tank. I contemplated this card with placing on 2nd position but went for the first position anyway. It did its job well.

Next came the Diemonshark, a brutal unit with quick melee attacking ability and has one of the best defences. I could afford it because of the 99 battle cost. It is one of the best tanks in the game for lower leagues. It was invincible in this battle. It has an interesting trample ability which let it strike again in the same round. I am very impressed with the stats of this card.

In the 3rd position, came the Flying Squid, a beefy unit with 8 health points that does quick and effective melee attacks. It comes with a nice reach ability that allows it to attack from the second position. It proved to be a useful asset during the battle.

In the fourth position was the Deeplurker. It is another heavy melee attacker with decent health. The distinguishable factor in this unit is its opportunity ability that attacks the weakest monsters in the opposite lineup. It eliminated many weak monsters in one hit.

Next in the lineup was the Sniping Narwhal. It deals with ranged attacks. I used this only for its ranged attacks. It has a snipe ability which attacks the monsters from the second position onwards.

Last but not least was the Giant Squid. It is also a ranged monster with slow speed. It doesn't have any abilities too. Now I think that I could have used a better card in this position.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Yes, my strategy worked perfectly. I had some beefy, defence-heavy monsters at the front of the lineup that engaged in and defended the rest of the lineup while the monsters like Deeplurker and sniping monsters at the back snipped off every monster from the opponent camp. I could use this strategy easily because I had no limitation of mana.

Do you like the Cruel Sethropod? Why or why not?

Yes and no both. Yes, because at low cost it comes equipped with a shield that can prove to be a game-changer at lower mana cost battles. But its poor attacking ability makes it a bad fit for high-end battles where it can prove to be a burden, especially at level 1 with no abilities. It is my personal opinion though.
