Venari Knifer is one of the stronger cards that came with the chaos legion pack. It has 4 speed which is quicker than most units. It deals 2 melee attack and comes with a high 7 health points. It has a nice ability of thorns that deal damage back to melee attackers. Although it doesn't have any armour of its own, still can be used in the first position.

Its Lore:

Venari Knifers are specialized rogues, assassins, and thieves that make their living through shadier dealings in the Realm of Silence underneath Praetoria. They often work as part of criminal organizations or guilds, taking on contracts to put more gold in their pockets. When the Chaos Legion's agents came to Praetoria, many Venari Knifers saw them as new benefactors for their mercenary work. Using the tunnels that run beneath the surface world, the Knifers move like shadows in the night to strike at their opponents.

I used Mylor Crowling as my Summoner which gave all my monsters thorns ability. It was a 28 mana battle and the ruleset was standard.

Venari Knifer came in the first place as it has decent health with thorns ability. It has 4 speed and 7 health points.

I placed the Orc Sergeant in the second position. It comes with 6 health points. The main reason behind placing it in the second position is its reach ability which allows it to attack from the second position in the lineup as well.

Next was the Venari Scout, a low costing unit but worth it in my lineup. It has the opportunity ability, one of my favourites of all abilities, attacks the weakest monster from the opposite lineup.

In position 4, Goblin Thief was standing firm to attack monsters at the back of the lineup as it has the sneak ability allowing it to do so. Its 2 melee damage can prove to be a heavy blow for monsters, especially at the back where there are weaker monsters present.

In position 5, Goblin Psychic was placed. Although it is a relatively high costing unit considering its stats but it proves to be a good asset when you combine it with a beefy tank in the front. It heals the tank each round making it more useful.

In the last position, I placed Mycleic Morphoid. It was more of a sacrificial unit because it cost only 1 mana and some monsters with sneak ability attacks at the back of the lineup. Hence, I used it in the back to protect my Goblin Psychic.

My Strategy

A big part of my strategy involved with choosing a good summoner for my battle. After some consideration, I chose the Mylor Crowling as it gave all my monsters thorns ability and watching my opponent's previous battles, they used Melee attacking monster the most.

I love to surprise my opponent with sneak and opportunity ability as they don't work in the normal manner. My strategy was to let Venari Knifer on the battlefield for longer so, I used the Goblin Psychic which healed it after every round.

I will share my battle here, which I have uploaded to YouTube.

ROUND 1

round1.PNG

My opponent used a death splinter with Cursed Windeku as one of the heavy cards as a tank. It was quite similar to my Venari Knifer maybe a bit stronger than that. Round 1 saw back and forth between them. We both lost one card in round 1 and my Vinari Knifer got to as low as 1 health point before being restored by Goblin Psychic otherwise, it would be a lost battle.

ROUND 2

round2.PNG

Round 2 saw a fierce battle between both tanks. Both had the thorns ability and both died simultaneously, what an end to both fighters!!

Round 2 also saw the demise of Goblin Psychic but it had done its duty. I have employed it to protect Venari Knifer and once it was off the board Goblin Psychic came afterwards.

But by the end of the round, only a Bone Golem was left in the opponent lineup.

ROUND 3 & 4

round3.PNG

The Bone Golem being a beefy unit tried to survive and was successful for some time but eventually fell too. It was inevitable. 3v1 for poor Golem.

RESULT

I won handsomely, it looked like a tough fight at the start with Cursed Windeku giving my monsters a hard time but the Venari Knifer fought well and died along with its nemesis.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Yes, my strategy worked well here. My use of monsters with opportunity and sneak ability was helpful but the most critical factor was the use of healing provided by Goblin Psychic while Venari Knifer proved to be an excellent tank in the front. It was an all-around performance and true teamwork.

Do you like the Venari Knifer? Why or why not?

Yes, I love the Venari Knifer it is one of the better cards that came out in the chaos legion pack. It was a perfect tank and its thorns ability with quick speed makes it a great card in my opinion.
