The World's Unluckiest Pack Opener Got A Niiicccee Gladius Opening

I like to share the Gladius pack openings because when I first started playing Splinterlands I had no idea that there were special packs for Brawl play. Also, I did not know what Brawls were haha! So, by posting about these openings, I hope that other players can have the chance to learn about some of the fun features of joining a guild, battling in brawls, and earning Gladius cards.

That last sentence gives a lot of the plot away, but here are the basic facts on Gladius packs:

• Gladius packs are purchased from the Splinterlands Store using Merits
• Merits are earned by participating in Guild Brawls, so you have to join a guild, and you have to enter Brawls.
• Guilds span all ranges of engagement, competitiveness, and cost - I am part of the mighty mighty #THGaming guild metaverse, in one of their less hyper-competitive guilds. It is friendly, fun, and gives me the chance to play and try to contribute in my small, shrimpy way to a bigger endeavor! *Hint, you might want to check out the THGaming guilds!!
• Gladius packs contain 5 Gladius cards, just like other Splinterlands packs
• Gladius cards have all the same features as other Splinterlands cards, too, there are Gold Foils, commons, legendaries, they have specific bonuses, they can be combined, etc.
• The TWO big differences are that all Gladius cards have a bonus of Bloodlust where they gain abilities after casting the killing blow on an opponent... The second, even bigger difference is that they are soul-bound, which means they are linked to your spellbook license and cannot be traded. So, they are powerful and fun, but only in Guild Brawls, and only for the account that earns them.

But about that pack opening...maybe you already know the big news from the teaser image above, but let us continue this little story. It has been a bit slow on accumulating Merits - not much thanks to me... I am probably only winning about 60% of my brawls. But hey, if half of life is showing up, then I am filling 100% of them (you are welcome strong players who murder me every week haha!).

There are certain cards you just hate to see as a sometimes clever but usually overpowered player. Almost any legendary is a pain in the butt, and there are certain summoners that just suck to go up against, or are perfectly suited to battle conditions. But one of the worst opponents to see in your opponent's deck is not a legendary or a summoner, it is a seemingly mellow Epic card.

Yes, I am now part of QUORA NATION! Look for me to blindly over-use this card every chance I get! Healing? Check! Bloodlust? Check! High HP? Check! Dual Attack Mode? Oh yes!

If you are a bad luck pack opener like me, this is a sign that sometimes the universe will throw you a little teaser. Sure, it is soulbound, so I cannot ever trade it, which means I cannot ever profit from it, but for me, well, this is about as good as it gets. I just never get good stuff in packs. I am always either just about dead on the odds of rareness that stats say I should be or much much worse. So, while this card does nothing for my bottom line, it does bring a smile to my face and I am excited for the next Brawl!
