Battle Mage Secrets - Back to Basics

Greetings splinterbuddies! How have you been? Your doing great hopefully and happy! Lets just keep positive with what is going with the world at the moment. This is my entry to the ruleset Back to Basics.

Back to Basics

Units lose all abilities.
Summoner effects are still active.

• To be frank, i am not fond with this ruleset. It is basically clearing out your skill combination and just fight with the maximum attack capability of the card and defend with its battle stand base on its armor and health. No sneak, no snipe, no opportunity seems kind a dull battle to me. Well i am just stating my opinion and please don't take it as a negative comment for this ruleset. Splinterlands is still fun and engaging with this ruleset.

The ruleset is:

Back to Basics with Up Close and Personal and Noxious Fumes in 39 Mana Capacity. With Light, Death and Dragon Splinters availability, I chose the Death Splinter as my team.

• Choosing Astral Entity as my summoner with its Resurrect,- Armor Buff to the opponent and Additional percentage to my monsters dodge rate will be my bet for this fight. Placing Mantaroth as my tank followed by Arachne Thug and Harklaw, i think this will be my main attacking team added to Tatiana Blayde which i place at the back for additional Range attacks. Corpse fiend and Carrion Shade was use just to fill the gaps of my team as i think. Considering the presence of the Noxious Fumes Ruleset, i also chose my monster base on their life counts.

• The Battle

Here is my sample battle coming from one of my guild BRAWL fights. The enemy choses Dragon Splinter that was boosted additional melee attack from its summoner perfect for the Up Close and Personal ruleset. Since the rulesets also includes Noxious Fumes, it is also deem necessary that the life of the monster splinters to have lots of health since Back to Basics is removing other skills that these monster splinters has.

Round 1

The start is obviously will be from the attack of front monster then proceed in the next round since the additional of Up Close and Personal with Back to Basics rulesets. Well in this case, we both have Tatiana Blayde that got both Melee and Range attack so it can attack with range even it was placed in the back of the line up.

Round 2

I lost two low health monsters in this round which are placed in middle due to Noxious Fumes. And because of that, the resurrect of my team's Astral Entity is triggered and was granted to Carrion Shade. Take note that Carrion Shade will not be affected by Noxious Fume anymore for the reason that it was resurrected.

Round 4

This is a close fight to be honest. The resurrect ability became the key point for my win in this fight. Adding the -Armor buff to my oppnent and additional 25% miss rate from my summoner to my opponents monster, which is luckily triggered, i grab the win on this battle. But its really just a small margin with a big luck type of win.

• Back to Basics ruleset, it just implies that you should always bring your knowledge ,even when it just basic, into the splinterlands game. It still part of the system of the game so don't forget it. You will never know when will it become handy in your battles.
