Boosting my Splinterlands deck - Opening 10 more Chaos Legion packs
I am in a journey to boost my Splinterlands deck and buying cheap cards from the market is an option. However, the tension and surprise of unwrapping a pack is unique. This is why I keep records of my packs and share my experience with the world.
The Splinterlands were shaken up down to the core when the Chaos Legion packs landed. The new cards improved the gameplay, making it more affordable for new players to bulk up on cards and boost them to higher levels. The new cards improved the gameplay, and created a smoother entry level for beginners. Just check the floor price for some of them and you will see I am right.
I managed to buy 3 packs during the pre-sale, when voucher purchase was the only way to get the new cards. When the sales opened to everyone, I hit the market and got 7 cheap packs. As the cards price went lower and lower, I changed the tactics and bought the cards I needed for pennies. With the hot cards upgraded, I went back to opening Chaos Legion packs.
I opened ten Chaos Legion pack in March and I even got a legendary card. Too bad is from the Life Splinter, and I play Life as often as Tottenham wins trophies! In ten packs I unwrapped one legendary, four epic cards and 7 rare ones. The percentage is over 20%, as 12 cards out of 50 were above average. I even got a golden foil and two summoners!
New month and new packs to open... will continue from where I left, so the stats will update as I open more and more! All the packs are bought from the market, where I sell the vouchers for Hive and then use the Hive to buy unopened packs!
**Unwrapping pack number 21: **The Antoid Platoon is one of my favorite cards. Top tank in low mana battles, and has a special synergy with the Ant Miners in the second position. The Angelic Mandarin looks like a decent ranged for only 3 mana.
Unwrapping pack number 22: Boom... two rare cards .... both neutral! I do like the Portal Spinner, and the randomized attacks. Still to use the Xenith Monk, as there are so many melee cards that I prefer before this one.
Sold some tokens on Hive Engine and spent the Hive to buy cheap packs. All the amount raised was spent on 7 Chaos Legion packs, which I easily deposited into the game. With this ones I reached 30% of my goal, and boosted my current deck and battle teams.
Unwrapping pack number 23: The Wave Brood looks solid, and the 12 health points makes it the perfect decoy in a team full of high damage/low health cards. Cursed Windeku shares the top spot with the Undead Rexx, being the preferred choice when playing the Death Splinter.
Unwrapping pack number 24: What happened here? One epic and two rare cards in this pack! Two summoners and the Weirding Warrior in one pack...happy days! I use the Weirding Warrior in the majority of the battles I play with the Death Splinter. The difference a 2 mana card can make is outstanding, specially against Life teams that bulked up in armour!
**Unwrapping pack number 25: **Another good pack, with 3 rare cards as reward. Soul Strangler.... yes ... sometimes with Contessa L'Ament. The Tenyii Striker is a top choice in my Fire teams, while the Mycelic Slipspawn is my main tank in Opsidian's team!
**Unwrapping pack number 26: **Got Thaddius Brood in this pack, a top summoner that I use freqently, and the Epic Insidious Warlock. Can't complain about this pack!
The Insidious Warlock is an Epic Death Splinter caster with 5 mana cost. It has the Recharge ability, attacking every other round with 3x damage. Is a card that will fit well into a high mana battle with my Army of Death!
**Unwrapping pack number 27: **General Sloan was hiding in this pack, and I wonder how a hungry hippo can fit in a pack. The Portal Spinner was the second rare card in the pack! It's interesting that I used both the above cards in the Time Mage weekly battle challenge. Check Hiro Nakamura - Time Mage and Splinterlands Legend and behold a battle between two hippos.
Unwrapping pack number 28: As Barny would say... Legen... wait for it... dary! Please ignore the rare Dhampir Stalker as the Scorch Fiend burned this pack like a supernova! I was missing the Chicken, and I am thrilled to finally have a zero mana card.
The Scorch Fiend will not make place as the last unit in my fire teams, helping as decoy or as an bonus health for hungry Ant Miners. Zero mana for 1 health and one damage sounds like a top deal.
**Unwrapping pack number 29: **One of the boring packs, with only Tenyii Striker inside. Can't complain about it as I unwrapped the Legendary Scorch Fiend just few seconds ago.
**Unwrapping pack number 30: **I am closing this episode in style, with the Pelacor Arbalest and Igor Darkspear! The Pelacor Arbalest is a top card to use in General Slone army, with a boosted double strike. Igor Darkspear can easily find a place in any water team, with only 2 mana cost. It has 4 health points and can take some damage when set in the last position.
I started a journey, set a goal to unwrap at least 100 Chaos Legion Packs. I managed to get some during the presale, and few more before the packs were available without VOUCHER. The game is on and hopefully I will reach the target before the packs will sold out. The 10 packs I opened were by far more rewarding then the previous ones, with 2 legendary cards added in my collection. The other non-common cards were 2 summoners, 13 rare and 3 epic cards.!
Opening 10 Chaos Legion Packs - 11th to 20th - I've got 3 summoners, 10 rare and 4 epic cards. To make it better I unwrapped a legendary as well!

Bwa, also did take some profit a time ago. but can't complain. Ending the season mostly in Diamond II, so satisfied with that.
