Battle Mages Secrets_Armored Up

Today, I'm going to let you in on a secret but first we will try and get more people to join the splinterlands game. This is another edition of the battle mage secrets, a weekly description of battle fought with a specific game rule set. Armored Up

All monsters have two armor in addition to their normal armor stat. Armored up is a kind of game rule set that requires the use of abilities to defeat. Tearing down the enemies armor could be a frustrating experience especially when a summoner with the void armor ability gets involved. However, there's always a way to achieve victory. In my experience of playing the game, I have learned to deploy these three abilities.

How to Achieve Success when faced with Armored-up Rule set


The use of summoners with armor reducing stats

The first instinct, when faced with the armored-up rule set, is to use a summoner with the ability to take down armors. Such summoners have an armor image with a negative number imprinted on them. The value of the negative number determines how many enemy's armor will be taken down. For instance, -2 means two armor will be taken off enemy monsters.


The Use of Monsters with Rust Ability

Another side to consider when faced with armored up rule set is to engage the service of monsters with rust ability. Rust abilities also reduces the enemy's armor and this can be seen in the battle presented below used by the enemy against me.


The use of Shatter ability

Achieving success while playing the armored-up rule set can also be simplified by the use of the shatter ability. Monsters with this ability take down the armor of their enemies when they strike. Irrespective of the number of armor the enemy has, only one strike from a monster with shatter ability takes it all down. In the game presented here, this ability was utilized.

Note, all the aforementioned abilities can also be combined on the same battlefield. However, while facing the armored-up rule set, I always use magic-attack monsters. There are some cases where the rule set doubles. For instance, having an armored-up rule set when only melee or ranged attack monsters are permitted on the battlefield. In such a case as this, while plotting to take down the enemy's armor, you should endeavor to strengthen your team's armor further.

Battle Team Selection

IMMORTALIS (Summoner)

The Legendary summoner "Immortalis was the best available for use. Notice that this summoner offers three stats, which are a decrease in the health of the enemy's monster, Void ability to all friendly monsters, & Shatter ability to all friendly monsters. In this battle involving armor, we need shatter ability.

Since more players also use magic attack monsters in battle like this, solidifying magic defense is another thing to consider and the void ability from this summoner got that area covered.


MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN

In confidence of what the summoner has to offer, Slipspawn was positioned as a defense. With its taunt ability, it takes the whole hit while on the battlefield. However, it never got eliminated because the team's strategy ensured that.

Being deployed from level one was never a disadvantage because it was fully protected and also had a tank healer monster to refill any damage incurred.


MUSHROOM SEER
Mushroom Seer with its silence ability helped solidify the magic strategy by reducing all enemy's monster magic damage by one. It also contributed its 2 magic damage in the team's success actualization.

GOBLIN PSYCHIC

Goblin Psychic offered the service of both tank heal and affliction. It also contributed two magic damage to the team's success.


MYCELIC MORPHOID

Morphoid was a mana completion card in this battle. It didn't get engaged in the battle it did come in with thorn ability in case the enemy chooses to be physical.


The selected team perform wonderfully well and totally outplayed their opponent. It was a nine rounds battle that saw all my monsters in full health condition at the end of the battle, which proves the efficacy of the strategy used.

Good battle of "Goblin Psychic", his "affliction" was key to ending the unicorn.👍👍👍

You are right. Those tank heal were going to keep refilling it but thanks to Goblin's affliction ability. I'm glad you went through it
