This post is split into two parts. The first section, I'll be sharing with you my weekly battle which I found fascinating with DEEPLURKER as the themed card, followed by My Splinterland Story. "Feeding two lovely birds with a morsel of bread," as the saying goes😃

This is my first participation in the SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! DEEPLURKER since starting Splinterlands battle few weeks ago.

Deeplurker is a fascinating card. Yes, it's mana cost of 6 points is a bit high, but it's ability makes this water monster a go-to card and I will be playing water element alot. Deeplurker gains poison at level 6, making it a very dangerous card.

THE BATTLE

I was greeted with a lower manna of 16 (before now I was used to higher Mana of 22-38😆) and timer set for 3mins to set-up my team. This really had me on my toes as I needed make my team solid.

TEAM LINE-UP

+1 Speed & +1 Armor		Water	My strategy is to place attack monsters with good mana and good damage in the first and second positions, followed by a higher mana monster with better attack in third and an skilled archer in fourth, but no magic attack monster
POSITION	CARD	ABILITY	STRATEGY
Front-line		none	The Sethropod is a cruel and dangerous creature. It attacks anything that comes within range, armed with strong pincers and spear-like teeth. Once a Cruel Sethropod has latched on, it is nearly impossible to remove it, and that's the bad ass I want on the front line
Second-line		none	A creature with a low mana cost, one health point, and one armor. Except for the magic attack monster, the opponent will need more than one attack to kill him. Hopefully, he'll be able to attack the opposing monster before he dies
Third-line		Opportunity	A powerful melee attack monster with good health and speed. Attack and eliminate the opposing monster with the least amount of health
Fourth-line		none	A Xenith warrior is a neutral element. An archer who would rather find a peaceful solution to a problem. However, when drawn into a fight, the Xenith archer sees it as a way to restore balance. Hopefully, she will not be killed too soon

ROUND 1

• Opponent used the Death element and THADDIUS BROOD as Summoner, CARRION SHADE in first position, CURSED WINDEKU in second position and SILENT SHA-VI in third position.
• Round 1 started with +1 speed and +1 armor by summoner KELYA FRENDUL to the monsters.
• DEEPLURKER got the first attack chance and immediately killed CARRION SHADE.
• SILENT SHA-VI then attacked my archer XENITH and she retaliated with an axe attack to CURSED WINDEKU.
• Finally CRUEL SETHROPOD attacks CURSED WINDEKU but in-turn is cursed for that attack, this end round 1.

ROUND 2

• DEEPLURKER attacks SILENT SHA-VI.
• SILENT SHA-VI attacks and kills XENITH ARCHER.
• Finally CRUEL SETHROPOD attacks CURSED WINDEKU and in-turn is cursed for that attack again, this end round 2.

ROUND 3

• CURSED WINDEKU attacks and kills my front-liner CRUEL SETHROPOD😔
• SILENT SHA-VI attacks and kills XENITH ARCHER.
• DEEPLURKER attacks and kills SILENT SHA-VI.
• Finally HARDY STONEFISH attacks CURSED WINDEKU and in-turn is cursed for that attack which kills it, this end round 3.

ROUND 4

• DEEPLURKER is left with the CURSED WINDEKU.
• They go rounds of attack, Finally DEEPLURKER gives CURSED WINDEKU the final knockout but then is cursed for that attack which kills it. DEEPLURKER goes on as the first attacker and last monster standing.

FINAL RESULT

• The Battle ends in a DRAW.

DID MY STRATEGY WORK?

• 😆NO! not really as i had hoped. But I was still a little satisfied that i didn't lose. My team went down fighting to the death.DEEPLURKER DIES WITH HONOUR⚔️

CONCLUSION AND WHAT I WOULD'VE DONE DIFFERENTLY?

• This battle fascinates me as I've always dreaded the CURSED WINDEKU. Coming into combat and not loosing to her curse is something I enjoyed.
• DEEPLURKER has amazing health, attack, and speed.
• DEEPLURKER is an excellent melee attack monster with great Opportunity abilities.
• I probably should had an Ice Pixie with Flying ability and magic in place of Xenith archer. But I'll be trying out this strategy in future battles.

🛡MY SPLINTERLANDS STORY🛡

This is a very emotional part of my post for me, because without it, I would not have been encouraged to play Splinterlands because I couldn't afford the cards.

So, since joining Hive in October 2021, I've been trying to get on Splinterlands but haven't been able to. Finally, I mustered the courage to open the account. I then proceeded to purchase the spell book, which cost 12 hive. After that, I went through the game's introduction and tutorials to get a feel for it.

I then reached out to @enginewitty for assistance, and he was extremely helpful and friendly. I was also friends with @saffisara , a lovely and friendly lady who enjoyed playing the game, so I felt like I finally had someone to cheer me on. They welcomed me into their guild, FAMILY ASH TREE, which I found very comfortable and was given 225 power right away. They also offered to assist me in practicing, which was extremely beneficial as I was studying their strategy and they explained various card skills to me.

This is where the emotional aspect comes in. I started receiving gifts just two days ago, while applying the knowledge gained from the challenges in battles, and my card number went from ZERO (0) to 136, all gifts from these two super generous humans, Enginewitty and Saffisara.

My sincere gratitude to to Enginewitty and Saffisara for the many gifts and making my Splinterland journey memorable. I tried to get a better screenshot of the gifts from bot but peakmonster for some reason stopped at just a few. Enginewitty and Saffisara , You're both so sweet and this kindness I'll never forget. There's a Brawl going on and I'm loosing but I'm learning same time😂, may I never shame the Guild🤣
