😊Hey Battle Mages!

Here's a warm welcome you to this week's battle mage secrets. We are down to 11 days to the End of Season [EOS], I truly hope you are having fun and progressing through the leagues nicely.

This post is my continuous attempt to explain how I approach the various kinds of Splinterlands battle rulesets. I have so far shared my approach to fifteen (15) Rulesets, here's the last one on HEAVY HITTERS and I have come to introduce you to another.

This is an interesting ruleset with a good number of conditional approaches. But, before I tell you all about it, there's plenty days left, so if you want to know other battle mages secrets and take part by sharing with us yours, simply visit 👉BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!.


Splinterlands seeks to sharpen player skills by allowing us explore various strategies via rulesets. I have tried to study a few cards especially with the newly introduced rulesets, giving one more reasons to know what cards strongly suits them.

Before the start of any battle, each player is shown what ruleset is allowed in battle and it is extremely beneficial to read and strategize accordingly. The ruleset secret I will be sharing you to in this post is the HOLY PROTECTION

HOLY PROTECTION RULESET implies that All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability.

With this in mind;

  • Players must know that monsters that normally have this ability do not get it twice. The trick to win in this ruleset is to fill all 6 slots of your line up and use monsters with Blast and Double Strike. Use a monster or summoner that has Resurrect to use this ruleset at its maximum potential.^(a)

  • The trick for players to win in this ruleset is to fill all 6 slots of their line up and use monsters with Blast and Double Strike abilities.^(b)

  • Finally players should use a monster or summoner that has Resurrect to use this ruleset at its maximum potential.^(c)

I especially enjoy this ruleset when it's the only rule of battle, but, what happens when it's then peered with the Blast ability and to even complicate matters, allows only magic monsters on the battlefield? Now you have less than 2.5mins to quickly think, eliminate & select. This gets especially enjoyable and I have the perfect battle to demonstrate it's use and a possible lineup that works for low mana battles.

This was a Low mana cap battle with the EXPLOSIVE WEAPONARY, WANDS OUT and spotlight ruleset of the week HOLY PROTECTION. Meaning all monsters get the Blast ability, only Magic monsters can be used in battle and also all monsters got the Divine shield ability.

My opponent came at me with a decent lineup and definitely ruleset appropriate so wouldn't make the mistake by underestimating these two cards. Splintertools already analyzed battle with a 100% win for me against my enemy 0%. Well, I have lost a battle with 100% chance to level 1s too, so I don't fully rely on the analysis but it works for the most part. I will quickly introduce you to my fantastic Summoner and Monster.

⚔️ TEAM LINE-UP ⚔️

IMMORTALIS - SUMMONER

Splinterlands great IMMORTALIS, a powerful summoner with the supernatural ability to take away -1 Max Health from enemies at start of battle, and grant the Void which reduces damage from Magic attacks. The target's armor is destroyed when hit by an attack from Monsters with the Shatter ability. These abilities are lethal to it's enemies.

IMMORTALIS is both a Pro & Anti magic summoner in the sense that magic attacks can be lethal against the enemy and same time protective of his team. Also, with this summoner, you need not labor against the enemies strengths, just seek to nullify their advantage by levelling the battlefield and obliterating them.


👉WHY I PICKED IMMORTALIS

I picked IMMORTALIS because of his Void which reduces magic damage seeing it was an only magic attack monsters battle, and also for his Shatter ability which will destroy enemies armor, allow damage to hit and deplete enemies health. Definitely his -1 Max Health comes in handy, giving my monsters a +1 health advantage.


This is a Legendary Chaos Legion card edition and Regular foil cost $27.99 at current market. While for rentals this card goes for 2.9 Dec per day, Level 1 at 500CP. At max level this card goes for 350 Dec per day, Level 4 at 5,775CP.

The Gold foil his price goes up, costing $155 at current market. While for rentals card goes for 16.7 Dec per day, Level 2 at 12,500CP. At max level 4 card goes for 440 Dec at 52,500CP.

KRON THE UNDYING

This formidable immortal monster battles with the strength of 1000 men. The forest cave is home to KRON THE UNDYINGM. He is against any monster who opposes magic. He has the regenerative powers to Heal himself each round, making him difficult to kill. Kron also has the Divine Shield and the Last stand ability to the last standing warrior on her team, this ability will help sustain warrior for longer, eventually winning the battle.

This cards attack type is Magic, and it is part of the Earth unit. It costs 10-mana to use in battle , as a result, he will be an excellent card for both mid & high mana ruleset battles.

Let us now delve deep into this Legendary warrior to discover why the whole of Splinterlands wants him on their side of the team so badly. I am using a level 1 Regular foil, and he has 3-melee, 2-speed, and 11-health.

At level 1 this card possesses 3-Magic Attack At 2-speed with 10-health. It's initial level, this card has high health which is very useful with a starting Heal ability.

level 2 this card maintains Level 1 stats only with an extra health point making it 11, and also gets the Divine shield ability. This Level alone makes him deadly.

At Max level 4, this card gets 4-Magic attack at 2-speed with 12-health along with a the same abilities in 1&2, but again gains a new Last Stand ability. This increased stats really makes him a big bull on the battle field.


👉WHY I PICKED KRON THE UNDYING

I picked KRON THE UNDYING because he is a self Healing monster and for his Last Stand ability which doubles his stats. This Monster will surely outlast the enemies in battle.


The Regular Foil [top] Untamed cost $59.5 at current market. For rentals this card is affordable at 27.204 Dec per day, Level 1 at 1000CP. At max level this card goes for 115.439 Dec, Level 4 at 11,550CP.

The Gold Foil Untamed edition it's pretty pricey and goes up, costing $575 at current market. While for rentals card goes for 66.444 Dec per day. Level 2 at 50,000CP. There is currently no Maxed level card for rentals, hence the level 3 card goes for 82.812 Dec at 100,000CP. It's really a great card own.

⚔️ THE BATTLE ⚔️


  • The Enemy also came at me with the Earth element, LYANNA NATURA as Summoner. PRISMATIC ENERGY in first position and MAGI OF THE FOREST in last position. My opponents lineup on a good day are difficult monsters.

LET'S RUMBLE!!!

  • Enemy-LYANNA NATURA boosted all her enemy team with +1 HEALTH as expected.

  • Summoner IMMORTALIS then goes on to take away -1 HEALTH from all enemies, and grants his team the Void and Shatter ability as expected.

  • KRON THE UNDYING being the only standing monster, activates his Last stand ability.

  • A clash of powers between Enemy-PRISMATIC ENERGY and KRON THE UNDYING as both hits is dispersed due to their divine shield. But KRON THE UNDYING finds his way dealing damage to Enemy-PRISMATIC ENERGY and the blast from that also hits Enemy-MAGI OF THE FOREST.

  • Enemy-PRISMATIC ENERGY and Enemy-MAGI OF THE FOREST take turns to attack the immortal KRON THE UNDYING, but he is too powerful, he cast a deadly spell which quickly depletes their health and kills Enemy-MAGI OF THE FOREST.

  • A face off between Enemy-PRISMATIC ENERGY and KRON THE UNDYING, but the enemy's devices is soon short-lived and with a single hit from KRON THE UNDYING, he immediately kills Enemy-PRISMATIC ENERGY.

  • 🎉KRON THE UNDYING & IMMORTALIS let out a roar FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!🎉

A RECAP OF THE LESSONS LEARNT ON HOLY PROTECTION RULESET


In battles with the HOLY PROTECTION ruleset, all monsters are granted the Divine Shield ability, adding a layer of strategic depth to battles. Players must remember that monsters that already possess this ability will not gain it twice like in the case of KRON THE UNDYING who already has the ability. To excel in this ruleset, a well-thought-out lineup is key.

On a Norm, I would have gone with YODIN ZAKU if it were not for the added two rulesets which already had a Blast ability and allowed on Magic monsters. Once I see the Holy Protection, this Yodin summoner comes up because monsters with Blast are especially valuable in this ruleset, as they can deliver significant damage while still benefiting from the Divine Shield protection.

If the Mana permits, players should include monsters with the Double Strike and resurrection abilities as well. Resurrect allows fallen monsters to come back to life, granting a second chance to capitalize on the Holy Protection advantage.

Players should carefully consider the abilities of their monsters and focus on a balanced team composition. Combining offensive power with defensive resilience will be crucial in emerging victorious.

wow Queen! Tremendous combat! I kept thinking for several minutes what lineup I could place to face such a monster, I thought about Quix + Void dragon + Wood nynph + Dr. Blight but then I realized that there was Blast! 😖 How would you have faced that situation? vs Immortalis vs Kron? Best regards!
