Here's a warm welcome you to this week's battle mage secrets. We are down to 11 DAYS:16 HOURS to End to Season [EOS], I truly hope you are having fun progressing through the leagues and looting those rewards chest😉.
This post is my continuous attempt to explain how I approach the various kinds of Splinterlands battle rulesets. I have so far shared my approach to Twenty Four (24) Rulesets, here's the last one on 
STAMPEDE and I have come to introduce you to another.

Splinterlands seeks to sharpen player skills by allowing us explore various strategies via rulesets. I have tried to study a few cards especially with the newly introduced rulesets, giving one more reasons to know what cards strongly suits them.
Before the start of any battle, each player is shown what ruleset is allowed in battle and it is extremely beneficial to read and strategize accordingly. The ruleset secret I will be sharing you to in this post is the
TAKING SIDES
TAKING SIDES RULESET Implies that Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles.
With this in mind;
Players should know there is no special tips and tricks, except if combined with another ruleset. But, make a balanced team
⏰Now you have less than 2.5mins to quickly think, eliminate & select. Well worry not because I have the perfect battle to demonstrate this and a possible lineup that works for low mana battles.

This was a High mana cap battle with the COUNTERSPELL, LOST LEGENDARIES and spotlight ruleset of the week LOST LEGENDARIES
📌TIPS TO NOTE ABOUT THESE RULESETS:
TAKING SIDES : Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles. There are no special tricks for this ruleset, but make a balanced team.
LOST LEGENDARIES : Legendary Monsters may not be used in battles. There are no special tricks for this ruleset.
COUNTERSPELL: All monsters receive the magic reflect ability. With this ability, when hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker
It's an Earth versus Death Battle. I will quickly introduce you to my fantastic Summoner and Monsters.
⚔️ TEAM LINE-UP & REASONS I ENGAGED THEM IN BATTLE ⚔️
SCARRED LLAMA MAGE
The most wanted summoner of the earth splinter, the SCARRED LLAMA MAGE, a summoner with the supernatural ability to 
Cleanse warriors fighting alongside by completely removing all negative buffs placed on front line Monster by enemy, and, also grant the 
Last stand ability to the last standing warrior on her team, this ability will help sustain warrior for longer, eventually winning the battle. But, this is not all SCARRED LLAMA MAGE does, she also grants all her warriors +2❤️ Health points, you have 85% chance of winning a battle with her as summoner.
👉WHY I PICKED SCARRED LLAMA MAGE
Summer SCARRED LLAMA MAGE is a Healer, hence, she is particularly effective when you envisage your enemy to come at you with Melee and deadly Spell cast Attackers. You will need to cleanse, make do with the extra health points and hope the increased stats from the last stand ability secures you victory.
PELACOR MERCENARY - Frontline Defense and Offense Tank
In third position comes the formidable card PELACOR MERCENARY. A true regenerative tank healer and a powerful Melee warrior. His 
Heal ability allows him to restore or regenerate a portion of his health each round. Whereas he 
Flying ability to fly over enemies with non-flying ability and fiercely attack them.
This cards attack type is Melee, a Common card and it is part of the Earth unit.
👉WHY I PICKED PELACOR MERCENARY
I picked PELACOR MERCENARY because of his Healing ability which will really prove worthy when peered with SCARRED LLAMA MAGE in this ruleset.
KHMER PRINCESS - Frontline Healer
In second place comes KHMER PRINCESS a level 6 rare card. Her Triage
is going to help heal team warrior that has taken the most damage, whereas her Tank heal
will help restore the health portion of PELACOR MERCENARY each round. I have employed her for this reason.
This cards attack type is Magic, a rare card and it is part of the Earth unit.
👉WHY I PICKED KHMER PRINCESS
I picked KHMER PRINCESS because of her Tank Healing ability which will really prove worthy for PELACOR MERCENARY.
Without further ado, let us now enter the battleground and see if my lineup works or not.
⚔️ THE GREAT MODERN BATTLE ⚔️
- The Enemy came at me with the Death element, ENEMY SUMMONER - THADIUS BROOD as Summoner. ENEMY-CURSED WINDEKU in first position, ENEMY-VENARI BONESMITH in second position, and finally ENEMY-WILLY KOYOTIAN in last position. My enemy came at me with decent set of cards, so Let's see what happened.
At Start of Battle, SUMMONER-SCARRED LLAMA MAGE granted my team warriors the
Cleanse,Last standand ❤️+2 Health points.ENEMY-SUMMONER THADIUS BROOD Attempt to take away a -1❤️max health and -1
Max magic point from my team of warriors, thankfully this has no significant effect on my monsters.PELACOR MERCENARY and ENEMY-VENARI BONESMITH get into a cross fire of attacks and poisonous affliction.
Back and forth attacks until ENEMY-CURSED WINDEKU target and kills KHMER PRINCESS, Immediately PELACOR MERCENARY takes up the last-stand and become brutal.
With the double stats, PELACOR MERCENARY goes into Rampage and immediately annihilates enemy front line monster ENEMY-CURSED WINDEKU.
PELACOR MERCENARY again strike and crushes ENEMY-VENARI BONESMITH and soon targets and kills ENEMY-WILY KOYOTIAN.
FLAWLESS VICTORY FOR MY TEAMA RECAP ON TAKING SIDES RULESET
In battles with the TAKING SIDES ruleset, Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles. There are no special tricks for this ruleset. But Splinterlands likes to tease with the minds of players by complicating the situation with a double or triple ruleset combo, Hence Players should focus on the rulesets and play accordingly.
This ruleset came with a Counterspell and Lost Legendaries, hence I decided to come with a balanced team comprising of high HP and defense Melee attacker in front, PELACOR MERCENARY. Also made sure Melee defense was a Self heal monster✅
I then added another Tank healer who happened to be a magic attacker as well, KHMER PRINCESS, her magic will cut through enemy shield and damage health✅
Having these abilities topped with the last stand, +2 health points and Cleanse offered by Summoner SCARRED LLAMA MAGE is so brutal, nothing can defeat this. I hope you find these tips useful, all the best as we round up this season.
