New Reward Cards (ANALYSIS)

INTRO

Splinterlands has just recently released new reward cards on Monday they all looks SO GOOD!
These cards will be obtainable in your daily & seasonal chests as per usual, I sure am excited to try these new toys!
These new cards will have the same outline design as the new CHAOS LEGENDS Pack Editions to be released next month. Which means that the Card Power (Dec Burn Value) they have will be similar and about half of that of the UNTAMED Editions.

What does these new editions bring to the table? New abilities!
1. Amplify: Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1.
2. Forcefield: This monster takes only 1 damage from attacks over 5.
3. Camouflage: This monster cannot be targeted for attacks unless it's in the first position.
4. Backfire: If an enemy misses this monster with an attack, the attacker takes 2 damage.
5. Deathblow: This monster does 2x damage if their target is the only monster left on the enemy team.

You can always follow me to see my posts at @qxacexp if you're interested!

FIRE

image.png image.png image.png

1. Venari Heatsmith (Common):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - Void ArmorMagic attacks hit this Monster's armor before its Health.
LVL 6 - AmplifyIncreases Magic Reflect, Return Fire and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1.
LVL 10 - ThornsWhen hit with a Melee attack, does (2 melee) damage back to the attacker.

Opinion: Not a card usable in lower leagues but it can be fairly decent in higher leagues as a cheap buffer... However, the Fire Splinter generally do not have much "Magic Reflect", "Return Fire" or "Thorn" Monsters. Use at your own discretion

2. Exploding Rats (Rare):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - BlastDoes additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster. Additional damage is equivalent to main damage/2 rounded up. Snipe works well with this ability.
LVL 5 - RedemptionWhen this Monster dies, it does 1 (melee) damage to all enemy monsters.
LVL 8 - True StrikeThis Monster's attacks cannot miss. Blind debuff will have no effect either.

Opinion: Generation 2 of the Exploding Dwarf who aren't built to last in the fight but to deal massive damage! This card would do good in Equalizer Rule-sets however I think that it can be used in Equal Opportunity and Super Sneak Rule-sets as long as you protect it well. With Malric, this will deal so much damage and with Pyre, this is a speedy beast!

3. Lava Launcher (Epic):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - Close RangeMonsters with the Close Range ability can perform ranged attacks from the first position.
LVL 4 - StunWhen a Monster with Stun hits a target, it has a 50% chance to stun the target causing it to skip turns until the stunning monster had its turn. This may cause some monsters to miss 2 turns or to miss 0 turns.

Opinion: Would be quite a strong card to add to your Yodin Zaku Deck. Not only does it hit hard or have insane tankiness, it is also capable of striking at the first position! You must definitely place this card in front of your range and magic monsters to soak up the "Snipes". Do note that it costs 9 mana so only play it if you have mana to spare...

WATER

image.png image.png image.png

1. Pelacor Bandit (Common):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - SneakTargets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.
Base - FlyingHas an increased chance (25%) of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

Opinion: Considering its cost, this is actually a pretty good card to have and play! Especially when you have the Sneak Daily Missions and you really need / want to play the Water Splinter this card will be very helpful as it won't eat much into your mana cost. Looking at its speed and ability, putting this card at the back could be beneficial for dodging "Sneak" attacks.

2. Venari Wavesmith (Rare):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - ProtectAll friendly Monsters gain +2 Armor.
LVL 5 - DispelWhen this monster hits an enemy, it clears all positive status effects on that enemy.

Opinion: A great addition to your Alric Magic Deck! What more can i say? This card would help a lot in helping your cards survive till round 2 unless your opponent is playing a Magic deck as well. PS. The dispel doesn't always prove to be useful but when it does, it could turn the tide around.

3. Dijinn Oshannus (Legendary):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - VoidReduced damage from Magic attacks. Same effects as shield but for magic damage.
LVL 2 - PhaseMagic attacks can miss this Monster (using the same hit/miss calculation as for Melee and Ranged attacks).
LVL 3 - ForcefieldThis monster takes only 1 damage from attacks over 5.

Opinion: Magic Deck's biggest nightmare as well as wishlist... A speedy magic tank that counters Magic itself? Search no more for the Dijinn Oshannus is here. The fact that it has "Void" not only mean that he receives less damage from magic, the "Phase" ability allows him to dodge magic attacks itself... This is pretty scary as this card has a speed of 5 which makes his dodge rate pretty considerable.

EARTH

image.png image.png image.png

1. Pelacor Mercenary (Common):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - FlyingHas an increased chance (25%) of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
LVL 6 - HealRestores a portion of the Monster's health each round. 1/3 of the monsters max health rounded down is restored. Minimum is 2.
LVL 10 - RetaliateWhen hit with a Melee attack, Monsters with Retaliate have a chance (50%) of attacking their attacker. Chain is possible.

Opinion: This is pretty much a secondary Nectar Queen in lower leagues. Meanwhile, in higher leagues this card is built to last (Heal) while the Nectar Queen is built to kill (Poison).

2. Venari Seedsmith (Rare):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - ScavengerGains 1 max health each time any monster dies.
LVL 5 - PoisonAttacks have a chance (50%) to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied. Poison does 2 damage each end of the turn and is not affected by shield or void.

Opinion: This would be a pretty fun card to play. Even though I feel that I already have a pretty strong Earth Deck already, I will play this in the "Toxic Fumes" Rule-set to see how long it can last! At higher leagues, the "Poison" ability would help melt most tanks.

3. Dijinn Biljka (Legendary):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - CamouflageThis monster cannot be targeted for attacks unless it's in the first position.
LVL 2 - VoidReduced damage from Magic attacks. Same effects as shield but for magic damage.
LVL 3 - WeakenReduces the Health of all enemy Monsters (by 1, but can't get lower than 1). An exception to this is if the enemy monster than scavenges. If it has less than 1 health and then scavenges, its max health will stay at 1.

Opinion: Honestly, this would be a pretty fun card to play but not something that I would really want. Definitely strong in low mana cap games but very weak in general. The only reason why I would ever want it is due to "Camouflage" but he is slow, fragile and only have 1 Magic attack... PS. "Void" is pretty useless on this card due to how fragile it is with 2 health

LIFE

image.png image.png image.png

1. Pelacor Conjurer (Common):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - FlyingHas an increased chance (25%) of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
LVL 4 - Magic ReflectWhen hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker. Equal to damage of the attacker/2 rounded up. Doesn't matter if the monster being hit by magic has void, it only looks at the damage from the attacker.
LVL 7 - Divine ShieldThe first time the Monster takes damage from a monster or earthquake it is ignored. Poison doesn't trigger divine shield, it will still chip away 2 HP.
LVL 10 - PhaseMagic attacks can miss this Monster (using the same hit/miss calculation as for Melee and Ranged attacks).

Opinion: This is the Life Splinter version of the Failed Summoner from the Earth Untamed Edition with the sole purpose of being a tank that reflects magic.

2. Venari Crystalsmith (Rare):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - Tank HealRestores a portion of the Monster in the first position's health each round. 1/3 of the monsters max health rounded down is restored.
LVL 6 - DispelWhen this monster hits an enemy, it clears all positive status effects on that enemy.

Opinion: Finally a "Tank Heal" card that can attack at level 1, unlike the Crustacean King and the Divine Healer which needs to be at level 3 before they gain an attack stat. But then this is a Rare card and would cost 1 mana more!

3. Dijinn Renova (Epic):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - StrengthenAll friendly Monsters have increased Health by 1.
LVL 4 - TriageWHeals the friendly back-line Monster that has taken the most damage. Heal is max health/3 rounded down. Minimum is 2.

Opinion: A very fine card to have, not only does its stats are pretty well rounded, the additional buffs it provides really suits this Splinter

DEATH

image.png image.png image.png

1. Pelacor Deceiver (Common):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - FlyingHas an increased chance (25%) of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
LVL 6 - BackfireIf an enemy misses this monster with an attack, the attacker takes 2 damage.
LVL 10 - RetaliateWhen hit with a Melee attack, Monsters with Retaliate have a chance (50%) of attacking their attacker. Chain is possible.

Opinion: Would be useful in "Earthquake" Rule-sets in lower leagues but i would prefer Phantasm, in higher leagues this will be very fun to play though! Imagine the opponent missing due to its high speed & "Flying" making them take 2 damage while if they hit, there's a 50% chance that this card will hit back. 😂

2. Venari Bonesmith (Rare):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - Life LeechRestores a portion of the Monster in the first position's health each round. 1/3 of the monsters max health rounded down is restored.
LVL 4 - PoisonAttacks have a chance (50%) to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied. Poison does 2 damage each end of the turn and is not affected by shield or void.
LVL 8 - DispelWhen this monster hits an enemy, it clears all positive status effects on that enemy.

Opinion: I personally love playing Life Leech monsters like Vampire, this is card however works differently as it does not focus on striking fast and gain health but slightly slow paced with more health to take a hit or two. The "Poison" ability it gains at higher leagues will be very helpful at taking down tanks!

3. Harklaw (Legendary):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - ShieldReduced damage from Melee and Ranged attacks. Attack value gets halved (and rounded up) before damage is dealt.
LVL 2 - ImmunityThis monster is immune to negative status effects. Still gets affected by summoner attack debuffs.
LVL 3 - DemoralizeReduces the Melee attack (by 1, but can't get lower than 1) of all enemy Monsters.

Opinion: My favourite and Wishlist from this reward edition! "Shield" monsters are generally my favourite like the Living Lava but the 2 main reasons why I want it is because of the DESIGN and the fact that it gains Immunity so it will be my go to monster for Toxic Fumes Rule-sets! The fact that it even has "Demoralize" to decrease the attacks of the enemies are beyond me as this beast is built to LAST in the game.

DRAGON

image.png image.png image.png
1. Naga Assassin (Common):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
LVL 4 - BackfireIf an enemy misses this monster with an attack, the attacker takes 2 damage.
LVL 8 - SwiftnessAll friendly Monsters have increased Speed.

Opinion: Not a big fan but this is a nice gap filler when you still have mana left, potentially fatal in higher leagues as it is a cheap buffer. At level 4, you can consider playing it at Reverse-Speed Rule-sets so that you can have a higher miss rate to activate her "Backfire" ability.

2. Twilight Basilisk: (Rare):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - ReachMelee attack Monsters with the Reach ability may attack from the second position on the team.
LVL 5 - StunWhen a Monster with Stun hits a target, it has a 50% chance to stun the target causing it to skip turns until the stunning monster had its turn. This may cause some monsters to miss 2 turns or to miss 0 turns.

Opinion: Not a card I appreciate but for a dragon card it is considered cheap. The stats of it are however underwhelming unless you are playing it for the stuns

3. Dijinn Chwala (Epic):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - ThornsWhen hit with a Melee attack, does (2 melee) damage back to the attacker.
LVL 2 - EnrageHas increased Melee attack and Speed when damaged. Values are multiplied by 1.5 and rounded up.
LVL 3 - True StrikeThis Monster's attacks cannot miss. Blind debuff will have no effect either.

Opinion: This is a card that really lives up to the Dragon Splinter, which are known to be expensive but well worth it with their devastating stats and abilities. The Dijinn Chwala has monstrous tankiness while having "Thorns", this is not a card you want to see at the enemy's front. At higher leagues it gains "Enrage" and to make it worse "True Strike" making it impossible for it to miss!

NEUTRAL

image.png image.png image.png
1. Gargoya Lion (Common):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - FlyingHas an increased chance (25%) of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
LVL 5 - VoidReduced damage from Magic attacks. Same effects as shield but for magic damage.
LVL 9 - EnrageHas increased Melee attack and Speed when damaged. Values are multiplied by 1.5 and rounded up.

Opinion: Generally, you can find better tanks in any splinters so this won't find much play. However, there are some splinters whose tanks does not have "Flying" so you might need him for those Earthquake Rule-sets.

2. Gargoya Devil (Rare):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - FlyingHas an increased chance (25%) of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
Base - Close RangeMonsters with the Close Range ability can perform ranged attacks from the first position.
LVL 4 - DeathblowThis monster does 2x damage if their target is the only monster left on the enemy team.

Opinion: This is a very interesting card and I believe it would be a great addition to any Yodin Zaku Decks. I like the fact that not only this card can be played in any position (Although you'd rather play him in the middle as he is fragile), in Earthquake Rule-sets and more importantly, this will make the Llama Kron Combo cry with the new ability "Deathblow".

1. Gargoya Lion (Epic):

ABILITIESDESCRIPTION
Base - SneakTargets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.
LVL 5 - PoisonAttacks have a chance (50%) to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied. Poison does 2 damage each end of the turn and is not affected by shield or void.

Opinion: Another Gap filler card, would be a great asset as it makes your Sneak Daily Mission easier with how cheap this card is to add into your team.

Nice write-up! It's such a pain to dig through each card to see their later buffs. Much easier to see them all like you just posted.

This game gets more and more complicated the more new cards come out. There are so many ways to play each splinter and it's becoming more and more difficult to choose my cards in the short 3 minutes prior to battle.

Very fun!

One suggestion: maybe put the card type somewhere in the description (common, rare, epic, legendary) just so us newbies know what we're looking at.

Followed and I'll be checking some of your earlier posts for knowledge as well. Thank you!
