Silver Lining

The sun is up. Still, I am struggling to find the right way— the path towards certainty. It’s the clouds, the stray ones that are blocking it from hitting the ground and forcing the glimmer of hope to retreat into its hideout.

But up above my eyes are caught in, looking at those clouds and trying to figure out which way it will head to, letting the sun overpower the darkness with its golden rays and scare away the summoner of downtimes. So, no time to be lost in despair, not this time.

Neither should you.

Ever seen the dark clouds forming around the sun blocking its way into the earth? It will be hard to find someone who hasn’t experienced it unless he/she is literally blind. During that time, the sun remains invisible, overpowered by the dark clouds, it disappears for the time being only to shine brightly when the clouds are gone— driven away by a gust of wind that brought them here in the first place.

While the clouds rest in the face of the golden sun, the edges become a sight to behold. Temporarily but obviously, the sun rays pierce through the thick layer of the clouds at the edges and announce their presence all along— creating an illusion of shining silver.

The silver lining, that’s what we call it.

And when you see something like that, do not lose hope— do not be too pessimistic either. Every cloud you see out there has the potential to create a silver lining and waits for its turn. For a moment, it wraps the earth with darkness, sometimes superficial but yes, it snatches away the sunshine from the creatures underneath.

In our life, we often go through situations where we don’t find hope in sight. But it’s there, and our belief in it keeps us patient but strong. When the darkness is over, we get immersed in the bounty of life once again, celebrating the moment.

Right now, we are seeing a sudden downfall in the crypto market— ranging from the mighty Bitcoin to our beloved Hive. Even though HBD is fighting and refusing to move from its position drastically like Hive, the chances of staying there for too long are futile. If it manages to hold the position, which is expected from a stable coin, then the creation of the Hive ecosystem and all those financial policies will be a success. Even though Hive has been the hype of the market for a long time despite its age, everything seems to fall apart when the bear awakes.

And many of us go crazy seeing the price fall, allowing our FOMO to take over— consequently, rushing to the market and exchanging with fiat.

A mistake many of us make and regret later. We do not understand that we will enjoy the fruits ripened through this silver lining phase when it’s over.

Another mistake we make is evaluating the value against our local currency (Non-US) and assuming the price has gone way too down. It’s common for the newbies and I have been a victim of it. Many of my well-wishers warned me not to compare the price against my local currency (BDT), but I was a fool (still I am) and reluctant as well.

The idea is simple, switch to a Hive mindset from now on, whatever you see in the ecosystem, consider it from its financial aspects and then, take it to the USD. You will save yourself from a lot of trouble.

For example, if you are dealing with the tokens in HIve Engine, do not take the BDT value into consideration. As the price of Hive has fallen, you will be clouded with an impression that you are buying something at a lower price (as shown in BDT), but in reality, you may not. Focus on that number you are buying the tokens (i.e. SPS), they are constant, when the Hive price goes up, the same $0.130 (for example) will/may bring a value worth 2x/3x from what you are getting in BDT right now. Besides, as you are not buying anything using your Fiat currency, why bother about its value at all?

The thing is, we stay calm and watch the market move slowly but surely. Similar to the past, the market may reverse and that is the time we will use whatever we have accumulated during this dark period and have a smile of victory. But the reversal is not guaranteed, as a wise man said to me and I quote,
