Don't Let Them Fly On Earthquake Ruleset ! | Splinterlands Weekly Battle Mage Secrets Challenge

Hello everyone, welcome back to Ramadhanight's Hive Blog on Splinterlands Weekly Battle Mage Secrets Challenge's Session. For this week Battle Challenge, there is earthquake ruleset that hurt every monster that are not flying with 2 physical damage every turn. I know most people would try to avoid the earthquake by choosing flying monster, so I tried to snare them with the water summoner (Vera), let's see how the battle goes !

Battle of The Week

Here is my formation for the battle :

Rules set:

Before we discuss about the formation, here is the rules for this match
Aimless : All monster have the scattershot ability
Earthquake : Non flying monster will receive 2 physical damage every turn
44 mana cap: high mana ruleset for high variation of squad.
Splinter available : all splinters are available except for the death and dragon !

My Lineup's Explanation :

Tankerimage.pngVoidI hate magic spam, and his void ability is very usefull to defend against magic. Djin Oshanus also have high speed and health which makes him suitable against physical enemies as well.
2nd Monsterimage.pngFly2nd tank that is prepared to survive longer on this earthquake ruleset where all enemies taking 2 damage except for the flying monsters. Had decend health and armor plus fly ability and 2 damage to makes him quite usefull as 2nd tank.
3rd Monsterimage.pngMartyrEarthquake means this rat will take 2 damage each turn because he cannot fly, and this is good to trigger the martyr once he eliminated. Put him behind gargoyas to help boost their stats as main tank and hitter.
4th Monsterimage.pngClose Range, FlyMain hitter with 3 range damage and 3 speed that having close range ability to attack from front as well. He got low health and armor but having fly ability to evade the earthquake.
5th Monsterimage.pngSneak, FlyAnother hitter with fly ability to evade the earthquake, but this one is a sneaker to hit enemies backline and try to snare them with the help of Vera.
6th Monsterimage.pngflyLast hitter with 2 magic damage, got fly ability as well to evade the earthquake .

I would also talk a little about my enemies lane up, but won't too detailed as my lane up, just my point of view in general about his lane up.

On the other side, my enemies put great effort with lorna shine to nerf 1 damage to all of his monsters. On the front, there is the Uriel which is suitable for the earthquake and scattershot, because I will hardly focus to eliminate him, and with the heal, he will be very very hard to eliminate on early round. Behind Uriel, there is the eagle with reach ability and 3 damage, also got flying to evade the earthquake. 3rd there is the magician with repair ability and fly, followed with pixie that flying as well and had 1 magic damage, then there is gargoya devil as well just like mine and last there is pegassus that breaking armors and had fly ability plus high health. Overall, i think his strategic is really good by putting all fly monster on this ruleset, his only mistakes might be he don't anticipate the snare that is combined with scattershot that will hurt his backline that mostly having low defensive ability. On the scattershot ruleset, you better had monster that are able to stand longer time due to chance they got attacked randomly.

Does My Strategy is Worked ? :

On first round, my monster are able to hit 4 different monster, and even it got nerved by the divine shield of Lorna, the snare were activate ! Both team are having zero monsters eliminated at the end of 1st round, it's still 6 vs 6 !

Round 2 started with the earthquake that hit 2 of my monsters that are not flying, and 4 of my enemies monster that had fly aility but got snared by my team ! It's really usefull to get them snared because they then took 2 damage from the earthquake. At the end of 2nd round, i lost 2 monsters with the martyr rat give the boost for monsters behind him, and my Djin Oshanus finally elimiated by enemies eagle. My enemies on the other side lost just 1 monster after the Adelade is got hit my earthquake and followed by 4 attack from the gargoya devil that got buffed by martyr. It's 4 vs 5 situation for my team at the end of 2nd round !

Again, the earthquake hit all non flying monster, and this time the pixie is got hit as well after got snared and instanly eliminated by the earthquake together with the pegassus that become the victim of the earthquake as well. I don't lose any monster this round and it ended with 4 vs 3 situation for my team ! The table has turned !

Last round, beause my enemies hurted with earthquake as well that cause his eagle eliminated, and uriel left with just 4 health that is easily eliminated by the gargoya devil and his gargoya devil left with 1 health that is eliminated by my pelacor bandit. Fiuh !

Discuss About Earthquake :


What Should We Get :

Since non flying monster is on huge disadvantage with 2 physical damage taken each turn, got as much flying monster is something you should really think about. And because your enemies will think so, you better got snare on your team, and Vera Selacia is very usefull on this situation. She also got low rent cost compared to any other summoners ! And you can try to use the earthquake to trigger the martyr as well so you got 2 monster behind them getting buff ! Heal ability and Triage is very usefull as well if you don't having the fly because they can recover your monsters health. Dragon summoner with fly buff is very usefull as well to help giving fly ability for all monster that having none of it !

What Should We Avoid:
Non flying monster, with low health is very fragile on this ruleset, because they might eliminated in just 1 turn by the earthquake ! Surviving skill is very usefull on this ruleset because you can expect your enemies getting hurt by the earthquake as well.

What would i do next ?
Well, if the dragon splinter is available, that flying buff from the dragon summoner is very usefull and I would like to combine it with deadly non flying monsters out there ~

Conclussion

Fly ability is a key on earthquake ability, because non flying are on HUGE disadvantage with 2 physical damage taken each turn. Try to get as much flying monster as you can on your team, and try to snare your opponent so they fly will disabled ! And don't forget, you can use the earthquake as well to help you trigger the martyr ability from your monster that can't fly ! Considering having high health monster to survive longer on this cruel ruleset, because you can expect your enemies got hurt by the earthquake as well. Heal and triage will be usefull as well to recover you monster after getting earthquake.

Wow the Snare ability worked like a charm, very interesting battle.

That scattershot makes it even more usefull, because normally it just hit front monster, other only if you got the snipe, sneak, and opportunity
