Even Steven, Time For Even Mana Cost Monsters to Shine ~

Hello everyone, welcome back to Ramadhanight's Hive Blog on Splinterlands Weekly Battle Mage Secrets Challenge's Session. For this week Battle Challenge, there is even steven ruleset which banned all odd mana monster, so the monster available are very limited. This battle is from a tournament that held by splinterlands, let's see how it goes !

Battle of The Week

Here is my formation for the battle :

Rules set:

Before we discuss about the formation, here is the rules for this match
Born Again : All monsters are having rebirth ability.
Even Stevens : Only monsters with even mana cost are playable on the match.
Ferocity : All monsters are having the fury ability
20 mana cap: medium low mana for strict monster selection
Splinter available : Fire, Life, and Dragon Splinters are available

My Lineup's Explanation :

Summonersimage.png+1 Armor, bring gladiusAbiility to bring gladius card is very usefull because gladius cards are often more efficient and having deadly bloodlust, and rebirth ruleset makes this summoner even more usefull because he got the armor that will rebirthed as well.
Tankerimage.pngFlyWith just 2 mana, this monster have 4 health, 3 speed, and fly ability to makes him an ideal tanker on low mana ruleset, especially against melee that might miss their attack.
2nd Monsterimage.pngBloodlust, scavengerHelmet khafarax is my choosen gladius card as my 2nd tank, with 2 mana cost as well, he got 3 health and 1 armor, plus a scavenger ability which is very usefull on rebirth ruleset, because every death will counted as scavenger even the second death after rebirth.
3rd Monsterimage.pngDodgeMain hitter for this match, because i expect enemies would bring armored monster to get benefit from the rebirth. This monster having great defensive against physical as well because the dodge and 4 armor which will granted after rebirth as well. He also got 6 health, very solid !
4th Monsterimage.pngopportunityLast monster, with just 2 mana, he got 1 attack with opportunity ability to go straight into enemies weak monsters.

I would also talk a little about my enemies lane up, but won't too detailed as my lane up, just my point of view in general about his lane up.

On the other side, my enemies put ilthain which is effective against range mosters and having 1 speed buff. He got solid tank against melee because having shield, and is supported with 2 magic monsters. First there is time mage to give another speed buff, and then there is the magi of chaos as main damager with 2 magic attack. Overal, it's a solid lane up, but let's see if it's worked out against my squad !

First round, all buff is set, and all monsters are giving their damage, but none is eliminated, still 4-3 for my team.

Second round, now we got the pelacor conjurer is eliminated and resurrectd to get eliminated once again. Enemies tank is eliminated once as well and get resurrected. This give my khafarax getting 3 health addition due to his scavenger ability. Now it's 3 vs 3 situation for my team.

My khafarax got another health after chaos knight is eliminated once again. Now it's 3 vs 2 situation for my team.

My khafarax got eliminated once this round, with time mage is eliminated once as well. Both of them are resurrected, so it's still 3 vs 2 situation for my team.

Now time mage and khafarax are both eliminated, so enemies left with just magi of chaos. It's 2 vs 1 situation for my team at the end of 5th round.

With just magi of chaos that left on enemies team, it won't take longer than 2 round to end the match. Victory !!!

Discuss About Even Steven Opportunity :

What Should We Get :

Due to limited monster available, you need to chose carefully based on the ruleset that appear beside the even steven itself. Some monster are kinda OP because it's superior abiliy or stats such as pelacor conjurer, which could be a great choice in your team. On higher league, doctor blight with camouflage, poison, and scavenger is a great choice with 4 mana cost, or queen mycelia on earth element that give armor buff. But still, ruleset is the main key to pick the team ! Rebirth should be filled with more armor and more monsters as example.
What Should We Avoid:
Pick weak monsters that are against the ruleset (or already weak even on basic ruleset), which will you a massive disadvantage.
What would i do next ?
Since this even steven only limited the monster selection, i will need to keep adapt to the ruleset that comes up with it

Conclussion

On even steven ruleset, we are only able to pick monster with even mana cost. Pick monsters that having great utility such as great stats and ability, but don't forget to pick the team with the ruleset consideration !
