Weekly Challenge - Scavo Firebolt

Another week of weekly challenge, something I am looking forward to all these while. Now this week we have Scavo Firebolt. Truth be told, I kept mixing it up with Scavo Chemist. Both looks like a rat, and both are wearing a goggle like thing on the head. Really quite a bit of resemblance!

Card Introduction

Card Name: Scavo Firebolt
Mana Cost: 4
Rarity: Rare
Splinter: Fire
Abilities: Knock Out
Level: 0 - Basic Card
Speed: 2
Type: Ranged
Damage Per Turn: 2
Edition: Chaos Legion

So now, I do not have a copy of this card yet but I still get to use it as it is part of the basic card.

Scavo Firebolt is pretty fine in a low level match. Actually, for matches with "Little Monster" as match condition, Scavo Firebolt can really be a killer. Paired with Legendary Summoners like Zaku, Scavo Firebolt can literally be a nightmare for your opponents. Small problem though, I do not have Zaku! Haha.

Direct Battle Link

Ok please do spend some time to have a look at these. There were some alignment issues and I literally have to try 3 times before I manage to take a nice shot of it. Goodness...

My Battle Strategy and Cards Placement

First up, this is a relatively high mana match so I get to splurge on the monsters to be used. Nevertheless, notice the horrible match conditions, Noxious Fumes. It is horrible, and it is like a mandatory 2 Magic Damage after every round. Why Magic damage? Cause it bypasses your armour!

So my game plan was to have the fire splinter because of Scavo Chemist, meaning that it is a must to include him! I tend to use high health monsters regardless of their position, and my trusty Almo Cambo, which tends to smile my opponents to death.

My tank would be the trusty Living Lava, followed by Fineas Rage at the second position with it's Reach ability. Scavo Firebolt and Ettin Spearman at the backline to dish out damage. The idea is to have as many of my monsters to be immune, while the ranged attackers dish out as much damage as they can before the Noxious Fumes wipe everyone out, both mine and my opponents.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Yups, it worked like a charm. It went exactly according to plan, and the feeling was great. Honestly, seeing the lack of Scavo Chemist in the opponent's lineup I know that this would be in the back. With 12 health for Almo Cambo, and by the time it would be at the tank position (meaning my first 2 monsters are dead), the opponent would then have to take out the 12 health Almo Cambo. Ain't an easy feat. Bet they would die off by the Noxious Fumes before that, and they sure did.

Do you like the Scavo Firebolt? Why or why not?

Hmmmm... Not my favourite, yea... I don't really use the Fire Splinter. Also, with the introduction of the new system for rewards, it is unlikely I will want to use a Basic Card that I do not have.
