MY SPLINTER-STORY 002 - SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE - PORTAL SPINNER!
Hello Co-Splinterlands Players!
This will be my very first "SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE" post for #Splinterlands with a theme monster :
ᑭOᖇTᗩᒪ SᑭIᑎᑎᙓᖇ
PORTAL SPINNER is a Range Life Splinter Rare Card that cost 5 mana. This card is part of the ongoing event of Chaos Legion Card Set. Below are the Stats of the Portal Spinner Card :
At Level 1, Portal Spinner has 2 Range Damage, 2 Speed, 1 Shield. 3 HP and a Scattershot Ability. This ability makes Portal Spinner attacks hit a random enemy target. His damage will raise at Level 4 and Level 8. His Speed will raise at Level 6 only. His Shield will raise at Level 3 only and His HP will raise at Level 2 and Level 5. He will also gain another ability at Level 5 which is the Snare ability. When attacking enemies with Flying ability, the Snare ability will remove the Flying ability from that target and cannot miss.

MY LINE UP
Before I choose what line up to create, I first look my opponents battle history, he mostly use a magic line up. From there I assume that he will still use a magic line up and counter it. And this is the line up that I made :
I choose General Sloan as the Summoner for the +1 Ranged Attack Damage. I planned to use monsters with range attack, so this buff will be a big help. | ||
MONSTERS: | ||
As I mention above, I assumed that my opponent will use Magic Line Up that is why I choose Clay Golem as my Tank. With his Void Ability and high HP, he really will withstand the Magic Damage. | ||
With Crystal Werewolf Weaken Ability to cutoff the Magic Damage by 1. It is the best combo for Clay Golem to counter Magic Line Up of the opponent. And with his 2nd Ablity, Thorns, will be a counter for the opponent Tank position if Clay Golem dies. | ||
I often use Venari Crystalsmith for his Tank Heal Ability together with Divine Healer. But for this Line Up I only use Crystalsmith because I think she is enough to sustain Clay Golem and Crystal Werewolf. Also because she is a Ranged Attacker which suits with General Sloan | ||
I put Portal Spinner on position 4 because I think this is a safe position. My last two cards will protect him if by chance the opponent place a monster with Sneak Ability. | ||
Prismologist have a high range attack damage plus the buff of General Sloan, it will really make an impact for my offense. And with her Blast Ability, the impact will surely feel up to the next monster. | ||
I choose Cornealus as my sixth and last card position because it has a high HP and a Heal Ability. Again, if by chance my opponent put a monster with Sneak, Cornealus can sustain its damage and will be able to protect Prismologist. |
THE BATTLE
As I assumed, my opponent did use a Magic Line Up with the following cards below:
Summoner | Obsidian |
---|---|
Monsters: | |
Position 1 | Unicorn Mustang |
Position 2 | Mycelic Infantry |
Position 3 | Mycelic Slipspawn |
Position 4 | Regal Peryton |
Position 5 | Goblin Psychic |
Position 6 | Goblin Tower |
This really gives me a tremendous advantage.
ROUND 1
After the buffs and debuffs have applied, my opponent attacks first with Regal Peryton :
- Regal Peryton attacks Clay Golem with 0 Danage.
- Venari Crystalsmith attacks Mycelic Slipspawn with 3 Damage.
- Unicorn Mustang attacks Clay Golem with 3 Damage.
- Cornealus attacks Mycelic Slipspawn with 3 Damage.
- Mycelic Slipspawn attacks Clay Golem with 1 Damage.
- Prismologist attacks Mycelic Slipspawn with 5 damage and eliminate it. Prismologist also damage Mycelic Infantry with 2 damage and Regal Peryton with 3 damage because of the Blast Ability.
- Portal Spinner attacks Goblin Tower with 4 damage.
- Goblin Psychic attacks Clay Golem with 1 damage.
- Goblin Tower attacks Clay Golem with 2 damage. He also damage Crystal Werewolf with 1 damage because of Blast Ability as well.
- Last to attack for Round 1 is Clay Golem. He attacks Unicorn Mustang with 3 damage.
Round 1 ends with No Elimination from both sides.
ROUND 2
- Regal Peryton attacks Clay Golem with 0 damage.
- Venari Crystalsmith heals Clay Golem with 3 HP and attacks Unicorn Mustang with 3 damage.
- Unicorn Mustang attacks Clay Golem with 3 damage.
- Cornealus attacks Unicorn Mustang with 3 damage.
- Prismologist attacks Unicon Mustang with 5 damage and eliminates it. She also damage Mycelic Infantry with 2 damage.
- Portal Spinner attacks Regal Peryton with 3 damage and eliminates it.
- Goblin Psychic attacks Clay Golem with 1 damage.
- Goblin Tower attacks Clay Golem with 2 damage and eliminate it. Goblin Tower also damage Crystal Werewolf with 1 damage.
- Mycelic Infantry attacks Crystal Werewolf with 3 damage. Mycelic Infantry also received 1 damage from Thorn Ability of Crystal Werewolf.
Round 2 ends with my side having 5 Cards left and my opponent having 3 Cards left.
ROUND 3
- Venari Crystalsmith heals Crystal Werewolf with 2 HP and attacks Mycelic Infantry with 2 damage.
- Crystal Werewolf attacks Mycelic Infantry with 0 damage.
- Cornealus attacks Mycelic Infantry with 2 damage.
- Prismologist attacks Mycelic Infantry with 3 damage and also hit Goblin Psychic with 3 damage thus eliminating both monsters.
- The Final Attack goes to our Themed Monster: Portal Spinner. He attacks Goblin Tower with 4 damage and eliminates it.
And with Portal Spinner eliminating Goblin Tower, the battle ends and Portal Spinner grabs the Victory for me. 😃

ᖴIᑎᗩᒪ TᕼOᙀᕼTS
Honestly, I rarely use Portal Spinner because I am not a fan of the Scattershot ability. It does not suit for my "Focus Fire Strategy". This strategy's goal is to Focus the damages or attacks to 1 monster so that the damage will burst that monster and eliminate it as quickly as possible. The Scattershot ability is the opposite of that, every attack the monster make is random that is why I rarely use monsters with Scattershot Ability.
But the good thing about this ability is that is not affected by the Taunt Ability. Even though the opponent has a monster with Taunt Ability, the Scattershot will still attacks enemies at random, thus damaging the other monsters. When you anticipate that your opponent will use monster with Taunt Ability, you should consider putting a monster with Scattershot Ability, it will really help chipping off the HP of your opponents other monster. Just like what you saw in my battle using Portal Spinner.
So this is it guys. This concludes my very first "SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE" post.
I hope you learn something from this.
