Hello Co-Splinterlands Players!

This is my "SHARE YOUR BATTLE CHALLENGE" post for this week for #Splinterlands with a theme monster :

SOᙀᒪ STᖇᗩᑎᘜᒪᙓᖇ

SOUL STRANGLER is a Range Death Splinter Rare Card that cost 3 mana. This card is part of the ongoing event of Chaos Legion Card Set. Below are the Stats of the Soul Strangler Card :

STATS.jpg

At Level 1, Soul Strangler has 2 Range Damage, 2 Speed, 0 Shield, 2 HP and 20 Collective Power. Soul Strangler has no Ability until he is at Level 8, his Max Level.

His Ranged Damage will increase by 1 at Level 3 and Level 6.

His Speed will increase by 1 at Level 2, then decrease by 1 at Level 3, but will increase again by 1 at Level 4.

He will not gain any Shield at all.

His HP will increase by 1 at Level 5 and Level 7.

At Level 8 (Max Level), Soul Strangler will have 4 Range Damage, 3 Speed, 0 Shield, 4 HP, 2,415 Collective Power and a Poison Ability. This makes Soul Strangler attacks have a chance to apply poison, which does automatic damage to the target at the beginning of each round after the poison is applied.

RULE SETS

image.png

EQUALIZER- The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.
MANA CAP- 29
AVAILABLE SPLINTER- Water and Death

MY LINE UP

Usually, before I choose what line up to create, I first look my opponents battle history, but this time, my opponent's history is not showing but luckily the available splinter is water and death only. For safety, I assume that he will use a magic line up with water splinter. And this is the line up that I made :

POSITION
CARD
REMARKS
SUMMONER
image.pngI choose Thaddius Brood as the Summoner to counter a magic line up. Also since the rule is equalizer, I believe that the -1 HP debuff of Thaddius Brood will give me an advantage.
MONSTERS:
1
image.pngI often use Harklaw as my Tank in my Death Line Up. For his Shield Ability to tank melee and range damage and his high HP can also withstand magic damage especially since Thaddius Brood already debuff magic damage.
2
image.pngDarkest Mage was my last pick for this battle just to cope with the Mana Cap. I am confident to put him in the Position 2 because of the Equalizer Rule. His Low HP will not become a problem for him to be a Second Tank and to give space for my 3rd and 4th Monsters
3
image.pngLife Sapper has the Life Leech Ability. Usually monsters with Life Leech Ability have low HP. But I love to use these monsters in Equalizer Rule because if their HP is already high just from the start of the Battle, it will continue to go up and more time will take to eliminate them. I put it at Pos 3 to have a space to gain more health.
4
image.pngVenari Bonesmith , just like Life Sapper, has Life Leech Ability. Bonesmith and Life Sapper can interchange position.
5
image.pngSoul Strangler, our themed monster. It's 2 Range Damage will be a help for my offense. I put him at Position 5 so that it will not be in danger for monsters with Sneak Ability.
6
image.pngI choose Soulstorm as my sixth and last card position because it has a decent Speed and Flying Ability, which gives him a more chance to dodge a Sneak Attack.

THE BATTLE

My opponent also choose Death Splinter for this battle. He also choose Thaddius Brood as his Summoner :

SummonerThaddius Brood
Monsters:
Position 1Bone Golem
Position 2Scavo Hireling
Position 3Life Sapper
Position 4Silent Sha-vi
Position 5Undead Badger
Position 6Uraeus

My opponent goes for a Back Attack Line-up with 3 monster that has a Sneak Ability. It's a good thing that I consider this scenario to happen putting a high speed monster at the back of my line-up.

ROUND 1

image.png

My Soulstorm gets to attack first for he has the highest speed:

  1. Soul Storm attacks Bone Golem with 3 damage.
  2. Life Sapper attacks Bone Golem with 0 damage.
  3. Venari Bonesmith attacks Bone Golem with 0 damage.
  4. Soul Strangler attacks Bone Golem with 2 damage.
  5. Silent Sha-vi attacks Soulstorm with 2 damage.
  6. Undead Badger attacks Soulstorm but misses.
  7. Darkest Mage attacks Bone Golem with 0 damage.
  8. Life Sapper attacks Harklaw with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  9. Harklaw attacks Bone Golem with 2 damage.
  10. Uraeus attacks Soulstorm with 1 damage.
  11. Scavo Hireling repairs 2 shield of Bone Golem.
  12. Bone Golem attacks Harklaw with 2 damage.

Round 1 ended with 0 Elimination on both sides. My magic damages can't do anything because of Bone Golem's Void Ability. If my attacks will not miss, then I can eliminate Bone Golem on Round 2.

My opponents Sneak attacks is somewhat connecting. I'm hoping here it misses more. 🤣

ROUND 2

image.png

  1. Soulstorm attacks Bone Golem with 3 damage.
  2. Life Sapper attacks Bone Golem with 0 damage.
  3. Venari Bonesmith attacks Bone Golem with 0 damage.
  4. Soul Strangler attacks Bone Golem with 2 damage.
  5. Undead Badger attacks Soulstorm with 1 damage.
  6. Silent Sha-vi attacks Soulstorm but misses.
  7. Darkest Mage attacks Bone Golem with 0 damage.
  8. Life Sapper attacks Harklaw with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  9. Harklaw attacks Bone Golem with 2 damage and eliminates Bone Golem.
  10. Uraeus attacks Soulstorm with 1 damage.

Round 2 ended with 1 elimination for my opponent and still 0 for my team. After eliminating Bone Golem, my magic damages will get through now and Life Leech Abilities will be activated.

ROUND 3

image.png

  1. Soulstorm attacks Scavo Hireling with 3 damage.
  2. Venari Bonesmith attacks Scavo Hireling with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  3. Life Sapper attacks Scavo Hireling with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  4. Soul Strangler attacks Scavo Hireling with 2 damage.
  5. Undead Badger attacks Soulstorm but misses.
  6. Silent Sha-vi attacks Soulstorm with 2 damage.
  7. Darkest Mage attacks Scavo Hireling with 1 damage and eliminates Scavo Hireling.
  8. Life Sapper attacks Harklaw with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  9. Harklaw attacks Life Sapper with 2 damage.
  10. Uraeus attacks Soulstorm with 1 damage and eliminates Soulstorm.

Round 3 ended with 2 eliminations for my opponent and 1 elimination for my team.

ROUND 4

image.png

  1. Life Sapper(mine) attacks Life Sapper(opponent) with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  2. Venari Bonesmith attacks Life Sapper with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  3. Soul Strangler attacks Life Sapper with 2 damage.
  4. Silent Sha-vi attacks Soul Strangler with 2 damage.
  5. Undead Badger attacks Soul Strangler with 1 damage.
  6. Darkest Mage attacks Life Sapper with 1 damage.
  7. Life Sapper attacks Harklaw with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  8. Harklaw attacks Life Sapper with 2 damage.
  9. Uraeus attacks Soulstorm with 1 damage.

Round 4 ended the same with 2 eliminations for my opponent and 1 elimination for my team. But my opponents Life Sapper having 3 HP left is on the verge of elimination, making Silent Sha-vi goes to 1st Position resulting to a decrease of damage of Sneak Attacks.

ROUND 5

image.png

  1. Venari Bonesmith attacks Life Sapper with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  2. Life Sapper(mine) attacks Life Sapper(opponent) with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  3. Soul Strangler attacks Life Sapper with 2 damage and eliminating Life Sapper.
  4. Silent Sha-vi attacks Harklaw with 1 damage.
  5. Undead Badger attacks Soul Strangler with 1 damage.
  6. Darkest Mage attacks Silent Sha-vi with 1 damage.
  7. Harklaw attacks Silent Sha-vi with 2 damage.
  8. Uraeus attacks Soulstorm with 1 damage.

Round 5 ended with 3 eliminations for my opponent and 1 elimination for my team. This is already looking good for my team.

ROUND 6

image.png

  1. Venari Bonesmith attacks Silent Sha-vi with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  2. Life Sapper attacks Silent Sha-vi with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  3. Soul Strangler attacks Silent Sha-vi with 2 damage.
  4. Silent Sha-vi attacks Harklaw with 1 damage.
  5. Undead Badger attacks Soul Strangler with 1 damage.
  6. Darkest Mage attacks Silent Sha-vi with 1 damage and eliminating Silent Sha-vi.
  7. Harklaw attacks Undead Badger with 2 damage.
  8. Uraeus attacks Soulstorm with 1 damage.

Round 6 ended with 4 eliminations for my opponent and 1 elimination for my team.

ROUND 7

image.png

  1. Life Sapper attacks Undead Badger with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  2. Venari Bonesmith attacks Undead Badger with 1 damage and gain 1 HP.
  3. Soul Strangler attacks Silent Sha-vi with 2 damage.
  4. Undead Badger attacks Harklaw with 0 damage.
  5. Darkest Mage attacks Undead Badger with 1 damage.
  6. Harklaw attacks Undead Badger with 2 damage and eliminates Undead Badger.
  7. Uraeus attacks Harklaw with 0 damage.

Round 7 ended with 5 eliminations for my opponent and 1 elimination for my team. Somehow my Soul Strangler survives the Sneak Attacks with 1 HP Left. 🤣

ROUND 8 and 9

The battle lasts for 9 rounds with Soul Strangler hitting the last attack and grabbing the Victory for me. 😀

My strategy work this time even though I did not get the chance to read the opponents line up because of the Equalizer Ability. It is a very big help for Soul Strangler. It survives the barrage attacks coming from Monster with Sneak Ability. Also with good position at 5th Position, Soul Strangler also get a protection from Soulstorm which is in the 6th Position and gets the Sneak attack first. And even though they get to eliminate Soul Strangler, they will to go through Venari Bonesmith and Life Sapper which at the end of Round 9 already have a 13 HP each. 😁

I think I like Soul Strangler for certain Rules like Equalizer, Armored Up and Holy Protection. This Rules Set gives Soul Strangler the advantage that it needs in order to survive an attacks and prolong his time in the battle.
