My Learning, Earning & Investing Journey On Splinterlands So Far

The splinterlands game is becoming more addictive and interesting. At the same time it’s getting difficult, I got a life quest to complete but couldn’t complete it because it was difficult. It seemed like I was paired with extremely skilled players with lots of powerful cards. I lost lots of games and I wanted to give up, but remembered there is a rent option. Haven’t mastered how to rent cards yet, don’t want to rent cards and not use them. Went through lots of cards to rent, but I was skeptical about renting. So I decided to ask questions to understand the basis of renting cards.

I reached out to some people to teach me how to rent cards, luckily enough I met @nyxlabs who suggested some cards to use. He decided to send me a Djinn Renova card. A Djinn Renova is a Life Card, it’s a pretty cool card, it’s more expensive than all my card collections. After using the card, I won my first battle using the card.

This made me aware of the importance of investing in the game. Initially, I read a player’s content advising newbies to learn about the game before investing. I took that advise seriously and decided to understand splinterlands properly before I can fully invest in it. Before playing, I promised myself I wasn’t going to ape in and start buying cards and renting cards due to FOMO.

The FOMO was due to the series of splinterlands contents I was reading and I wanted to join also. Right now am proud of myself for learning, am not done with my learning yet, but am gradually entering the stage of earning. I have earned 166 DEC tokens for playing splinterlands this week, I currently have 9 cards.

Some of them were gifted but I earned most of them from playing the splinterlands. That’s a lot to me right now but I want more. Within a short while I will start investing in splinterlands.

I know the game will get harder as I progress, but what’s the fun in playing if we don’t meet challenges.

If you can give me tips on how to rent cards and how to choose cards to rent, I will be grateful to receive your tips. Thank you

A good way of deciding what cards to rent is to have a look at the top battles in your league. Look which cards are used and try to put your rental strategy together using this knowledge.
