SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! DRAGON

dragon battle.png

This weeks theme is Dragon an extremely powerful splinter that is super useful because it can synergize with cards across all splinters. I don't often use dragon cards so I used this opportunity to rent some of the brand new chaos legion cards that I have been dieing to try out. Lets see how it went

Rentals

Quix The Devious

quix.JPG

1st up I needed a summoner so what better one to get than the new legendary summoner Quix The Devious, I rented a level 2 version. He de-buffs your opponents range damage -1 and speed -1

Chaos Dragon

chaos.JPG

Next a level 2 Chaos Dragon as you will see this card is incredibly powerful especially at this level where he gets the blast ability on top of the scattershot ability. With 3 magic damage he packs a punch and with 4 shield and 10 HP he is tough to take down. 14 mana cost is very high which can limit him to high mana matches though

Void Dragon

And finally a level 2 Void Dragon, this was my tank he has the void ability which reduces magic damage by 1, very high speed and alot of HP perfect for the frontline

Pre Battle Thoughts

I really want to target a high mana match so I can get both of my dragons in play without sacrificing anywhere else on my team. Void dragon will make a great tank and I want to use Chaos Dragon hidden somewhere in the backline where he can just fire off his shots and decimate my opponent

Rulesets

keep-your-distance.pngtarget-practice.png

Keep your distance means no melee monsters aloud which is perfect for Quix and my magic dragons
Target practice means I'll have to be wary that all monsters under this ruleset will be attacking the backline

Team Selection

Pre.JPG

My thinking going into the match with this ruleset and my opponents previous matches was that they were gonna go with a more ranged focused attack which didn't play out so my team was set up more to counter range than magic

Void Dragon

VD.JPG

Void dragon with the void ability I wanted in the front position to counter my opponents front line magic attack

Pelacour Conjurer

PC.JPG

Pelacour Conjurer I wanted in the 2nd position with his high speed and flying he can dodge any of my opponents range attacks and with the magic reflect ability and can return any magic damage coming his way. A very underrated card especially in this position

Truthspeaker

TS.JPG

Truthspeaker with its protect ability grants +2 Armor to all monsters, I was expecting range from my opponent which didn't pay off so unfortunately this card was not very helpful in this match

Time mage

TM.JPG

Time mage with the slow ability in conjunction with Quix means my opponent will start the match with -2 speed, a great combo

Chaos Dragon

CD.JPG

I slotted chaos dragon in the 5th spot on my team so he can hopefully survive long enough to get a few solid hits in

Venari Crystalsmith

VC.JPG

One of the best rewards cards Venari Crystalsmith was my backline tank. With 2 range damage and the tank heal ability its a great card

Round 1

rnd 1.JPG

With the speed nerfs from my quix and time mage the majority of my opponents monsters begin the match with 1 speed a tremendous advantage.

My Chaos Dragons 1st attack lands perfectly on Vernari Wavesmith meaning with the blast damage both the Coral wraith and Ice Pixie go down without even firing a shot, WOW, HOW GOODS THAT

My Pelacour Conjurer goes down but not without using his magic reflect ability to finish off the Wavesmith

Round 2

rnd 2.JPG

My Chaos Dragon lands another perfect attack ending Phantom Of The Abyss with a direct hit which also blast damages Mdusa for 2 damage which means my Crystalsmith can finish her off with one hit

Round 3

rnd 3.JPG

My void dragon has survived the entire match taking no damage due to void and Crystalsmiths tank heal. From here my opponent can do nothing and is easily eventually finished off by my Chaos dragon

Final Thoughts

Chaos Dragon is an absolute BEAST he destroyed my opponent with ease and was definitely MVP. His first 2 shots couldn't of landed in a better spot, what an awesome card

Quix was great I love the -1 speed. It's so much fun nerfing your opponent and obliterating them before they can even fire a shot

Void dragon did exactly what you hope for in a tank, stayed alive and let my other monsters do their thing

All in all I can't recommend these cards enough they were extremely powerful and also a lot of fun to play with
