Exploring DEC Batteries (DEC-B) and Planning Purchase Strategy

Splinterlands has finally launched the sales for DEC Batteries tokens it's like an advanced version of DEC but added with certain additional benefits. I am an SPS holder and I take part in community proposals so I supported this proposal when it was launched in December. With every new proposal the details are provided by the creator and the team has shared some updates but I was not clear that what it is going to be. Because the proposal was approved so they have finally started the sale for the token and it will continue for 2 months approximately if the supply is not exhausted.

I have gone through the post and try to understand what are benefits it will be offered if I buy now. I am sure there is something that will be beneficial for the people who have a long-term vision of the game and since I share the same so I will be buying a good chunk of tokens for sure.

Dec-B utility will be revealed later

As of now, there is no update about the token utility and what sort of benefits we are going to get if we plan to hold. Based on some details provided in the post it seems that we will be able to get additional benefits on purchases in the game. Maybe we can get some additional discount on the buy or maybe we are prioritized to take part in promotional sales. I have seen in the past that we get the chance to grab something in presale so if this can be one of the benefits then I am sure it is going to be a good addition and a useful token. I hope that we are going to have the utility this year only and don't have to wait too long to have some insight about it.

My Buying strategy

I have checked that I can purchase this token using 2 in-game tokens and these are dec or vouchers. I hold both tokens in my game account so buying the new token is not going to be difficult for me. I know that I can buy within a minute in the game account and it is like a convergent transaction that I will be doing either through DEC or by voucher tokens. I earn vouchers every day through my SPS holding and I have been accumulating for the last few months so this will help me with some Dec-B tokens.

Now since the sale has just started so there is enough time to take part and I can see a good amount of supply available to buy. I want to wait for some more time before I execute the transaction because in the meantime I will be able to accumulate more vouchers which means I can buy more tokens.

Dec-B is Soulbound

This new token is Soulbound which means we cannot transfer a trade this token because this is linked to our account. You can surely use the token within the game but that will not be part of any trading or even sending to another account. It is the same that we have received some reward cards recently which are soul bound. The cards will be treatable after 2 years more but these tokens will remain the same because there is no such functionality provided to this.

Long-term strategy

It is confirmed that I will be buying tokens soon and as always this is going to be my long-term investment because I hope that will be more profitable. Whatever I purchase in-game is still here because my goal is not just for a couple of years instead it is for much more. Use case and utility for the token will play a vital role in the demand so I expect that the Team should be doing it soon. If the use case is very good then I am sure the sale will not be running along because people will buy on bigger quantities.

I already have vouchers and decided that I will be using my voucher to construct convert or by this new token which I think is going to be a new asset in my game account. There are multiple assets in the game but we have to understand that with each asset the use case is different however we also get the opportunity to generate some passive income with a certain type of assets. So what is your plan to buy this new token called DEC batteries and are you going to buy it?
