I bought almost 6K SPS and powered up in Splinterlands

Now the announcement has already been made that we are going to have the collection power replaced with the SPS stake. An official publication has been submitted with the details and by now I think almost the entire community is aware of the change. this change was already shared a couple of months back during the town hall and it was also part of the roadmap so even without the announcement majority of people were aware in the gaming community. I have been following the strategy to accumulate more SPS before the implementation and I was told earlier that the change will go live in the third quarter.

I have gone through the announcement post to understand how this change will work in the game and what is needed to make the most out of the available rewards. with the change which is going to be implemented on 6th July now there is no capping on the league which means anyone can play in any league provided they can score the minimum ranking. Needless to say that a higher ranking will be possible only if in case you are holding a powerful card so the value of the card will remain the same. Based on the ranking you will be able to fall in certain multipliers and the league chooses to play. So here is the biggest component that will determine its SPS staking. Holding the SPS tokens in the wallet is not enough instead it is mandatory to power it up then only it will be counted as a stake.

SPS Price

The change can be seen on the market as now everyone is just trying to buy as much as sps they can in the market and because of this the price has also started to go up. I am glad that I can buy at a slightly high price and I purchased almost 6k sps in one go. Even the current price is not so high that one needs to think about so if you are planning to buy then just go for it.

Here is the trade history for SPS and you will be able to see that hardly anyone is selling the sps and the majority of orders are by which shows that now players are trying to accumulate more sps. I have already discussed in my previous post that the SPS is going to be much more valuable and it is just a matter of time so probably that time has come now.

I staked 6k SPS

I was able to buy more than 5800 SPS in one go and I used all my liquid funds available in my account. I always ensure to power up the tokens whenever I buy in the market because there is no point in keeping the holding in liquid form rather powering up is good because it starts earning rewards on this. It is highly expected that now more people will be doing the power so the apr is going to dip in the coming days or weeks. so as my below screenshot shows that I have powered up 5956 tokens in total which is almost 6k sps.

My SPS Holding now and further strategy

So after this power-up here is the updated balance of my SPS holding and I'm glad to say that it is going to be 40K in total almost and I am going to make it even more in the coming days. Now I believe that goal on sps is going to be long term because even after 60K whenever I make it happen will not be sufficient for me. Although my immediate goal is to have at least 60K SPS tokens as soon as possible but once that is achieved then I will think about it and plan things accordingly.

I understand that multiple assets in the game are worth accumulating but for now, sps is the main priority for me and I am sure many other players would be sharing the same thought. I expect that the price of SPS is going to increase further because the demand has increased and whoever likes to play in the higher league with better reward will be required to hold a decent balance of the tokens. you can check the latest announcement post by Splinterlands to check out the required amount of tokens as per the multipliers.

I look forward to seeing how rewards will be improved in this season since the change is coming in mid of the season. I play in Silver League but I aim to be in gold soon and I will do the sps power-ups more in the coming days to meet the requirement.
