Splinterlands has been seeing some significant improvement in its economy over the last couple of days. Various proposals are being created and modified for the betterment of the community! Users and players are delivering their POV in such matters. Decentralization and community is what matters at the end of the day. Which is being provided by the ecosystem of HIVE and the game of Splinterlands.


As a player and an investor in the eco system of the game of Splinterlands, I have been trying to figure out a way to make some changes in my approach for the upcoming days. Among many steps, I would like to create a timeframe and some risk managaments facts about some investments, made by me in Splinterlands. This includes, long term investments and also some short term gains in some investments. Lets explore a long term investment of mine in the game of Splinterlands.

Validator Node Licenses

Splinterlands introduced a feature back in the days, where Validator Node Licenses will play a vital role in the game. It will act as one of the pillar of the game. Once Licenses gets live, it will change the game quite interestingly. Making it one of the most anticipating move by the team of Splinterlands.

• Let us take a look at the present scenario of Validator Node Licenses (Ingame-Secondary market)

There are total of 7 Tranches/stages in sale of Licenses. At present we are going through, tranche 2. If anybody wants to purchase a Validator Node License from ingame of Splinterlands, one has to pay $2500 worth of SPS and 500 Vouchers. At current market price of 500 voucher would stand up to approx $20 for this price. All together the price of a node would cost $2520 for ingame purchase.

On the contrary, obtaining a node from a secondary market aka Hive-Engine, would cost approx $800! This a whopping discount compared to the ingame purchase of node. This is a significant difference compared to an official and secondary market purchase. In short, with the price of $2500(ingame) once can easily obtain 3 nodes from the secondary market.

My Validator Node Licenses

At this current moment, I am holding onto 2 node licenses. I made this purchase quite some time back. I obtained them via the ingame market. Which you can see was not much of a smart plan compared to the price point, that is standing right now. Which is why, it has probably entered into my long term holdings in my portfolio. As it will require quite a long time for me, to breakeven in my investment. But either way, it is a hefty investment from my side and I am acquiring some bumpy rewards just by holding into them. Sort of like, passive income. I am obtaining vouchers and SPS(staked) by owning license in my account.

• Upcoming days

I do not intend, neither plan to sell these nodes in the upcoming days. But if things goes the other way for me, I might end up giving away my possessions. But I hope it does not come to this path. Also, if I can, I want to acquire one or more node up along the way. As once the Validator licenses goes live, the whole eco system of this game will change drastically. Which will eventually convert Validator Node Licenses into one of the most valuable asset within the chain of Splinterlands. I am quite positive about this investment of mine. Also I am looking forward to the upcoming days of mine in this play to earn game.
