#7 - Death vs Death Battle - Did Haunted Spider triumph?

As part of the "Share Your Battle" challenge, I played with a few battles with Haunted Spider. I usually pick Haunted Spirit, Skeleton Assassin and Twisted Jester when using a Death lineup because they go well together.

  • The most interesting battle was a 18 mana encounter. Both teams chose a Death lineup, but my lineup had Haunted Spider while my opponent didn't. Let's see who will win. (If you realised, my opponent had some powerful cards.)

  • Round 1: Both teams lost 1 card. Haunted Spider at speed 1 was the slowest among all the heroes to hit.

  • Round 2: My opponents' strong cards are starting to show and it's down to 4 cards each.
    image.png
  • Round 3: Haunted Spider get knocked out in this round as my damage to my opponent are either neutralised by healing or life leech. :(

  • Round 4: This is why speed is so important. My Skeleton Assassin knocked out their Twisted Jester and my Twisted Jester followed to knock their power card Venari Bonesmith out!

  • Rounds 5-6: Just when I thought the tides have turned in my favour, my Twisted Jester get knocked out by Uraeus, another strong card from my opponent.

  • Rounds 7-23: Once again, Skeleton Assassin's speed proved crucial and took out Uraeus right at the start. From then on, it was 2v1 all the way to Round 23, thanks to 2 x Haunted Spirits fighting! And I won!

If you want to watch the full battle, I believe you can catch it via this link.

Did my strategy work? Even though I won a tougher team (to my surprise), I personally felt that Haunted Spider did not make much impact and it didn't help that it was the slowest to hit among all the cards. This battle was won by speed of the cards and Skeleton Assassin was clearly the MVP. (Perhaps Haunted Spider will fare better against opponents who do not use cards with Snipe ability.)

What are your takeaways from this battle and which cards do you use for Death? Feel free to comment below!

As always, thanks for reading and have a pleasant week ahead!

It's often the way with these challenges, there's something better you can play!

At least you played him in the right position to soak up a snipe attack, keeping the Jester alive for longer!

And a win is a win, so fair play!

Yes, it encourages me to try new cards and learn new strategies. That's an interesting observation - indeed it kept my Jester alive for longer! Thanks for the upvote too!!
