#9 - Reflections On My First Full Season

I have just completed my first full season in Splinterlands and managed to finish in Bronze III league. The rewards haven't been fantastic ever since they made changes to reduce the chances of getting cards from chests from 33% to 10%. As a result, I was slightly disappointed not to have any new cards to improve on my existing deck. :(

To share my reflections on my first full season, have documented some of my achievements/milestones below:

  • Completed all daily quests
  • Learnt to use more Elements: I started using more Life and Death element cards and as the days progress, I have also explored using Water element cards. So I am using a combination of these 3 elements.
  • Rented my first card using PeakMonsters: With PeakMonsters' user-friendly interface, it was easy to rent cards and boost my current deck. Hopefully I will be able to make it to Bronze II this season.
  • Rented out cards to earn DEC using PeakMonsters: With all the renting frenzy towards the end of the season, I have managed to organise my rentals and adjust prices quickly using PeakMonsters (definitely a great help!) to maximise my rental income. All in all, I have netted about 2 DEC from renting out 2 Rare and 5 Common cards.
  • Achieved a battle win rate of around 43%: Winning battles also earns me DEC, which can be used to buy or rent cards. I personally think the win rate is decent but always good to challenge myself to improve on this.
  • Earned SPT by writing and voting posts using PeakD: When I need a break from the battles, I would pop by to write and vote posts on Splintertalk and other communities on Hive. It's fun to interact with other fellow players compared to playing the game alone. And PeakD offers many tools and analytics to make reading, posting, voting so easy!
  • Earned and staked SPS: With CP, DEC and SPT all feeding into the SPS airdrop points, I have been claiming the SPS rewards and staking them to increase my rewards. (Tip: Do you know PeakMonsters has a SPS Airdrop Board to see all your chart and statstics? It's the 2nd entry under the drop-down menu at the top right corner.)

So that's it for the reflections of my first full season. If there is any advice for newbies for me, feel free to leave them in the comments below! I do read them! :)

As always, thanks for reading and hope you have a pleasant week ahead! :)

I'd recommend focusing on cards which have abilities, the more you can stack your decks with those, the more chance you have of winning!

Thanks for the tip! Are there any cards which you would recommend that are decent but not too expensive to rent?

I rented out one card end of season (and regretted it.) Selling the card at the right time outweighs any rental income. I haven't played a full season yet.

Hmm I think keeping good cards might be better over the long run because their value might go up over time. :)
