Share Your Battle - Is Warrior Of Peace Underrated?

The theme for the current "Share Your Battle" challenge is Carrion Shade, but I thought of sharing another interesting card which I think is very underrated! As you can see from the photo, it's none other than Warrior Of Peace! Don't underestimate it just because it is a Common Card!

For those who are interested in the Lore of Warrior of Peace, I have attached the little snippet from the in-game description for a read.

The Peacebringers are the underground resistance to the Order of the Silver Shield in Khymeria, and the Warriors of Peace are their writers. They have proven time and time again that the greatest weapons are written, not thrown, loosed or swung.

Battle Type & Team Lineup

PositionCardNotes
SummonerMother KhalaWith 99 mana, Pelacor Arbalest isn't an ideal choice for the team because it has too low HP to outlast the rounds. So have opted for +1 HP instead of +1 Ranged attack.
1ShieldbreakerIt's almost the number one choice for Life tanks in battles with high mana.
2Warrior of PeaceTanky card to buy more time for the backline. Its Demoralise and 5 Speed can be nightmares for melee attackers.
3Djinn RenovaAnother card with a great Strengthen ability! Provides +1 HP to all and buys even more time for the backline. (I kept emphasising this because Ranged attacks cannot attack from the first position.)
4Venari CrystalsmithOne of the common choices for Ranged attack and healing ability. When executed well, Shieldbreaker would be hard to break down.
5DisintegratorI selected Disintegrator over other cards because this was a Melee Mayhem battle, so if my gamble turned out right, the opponent would be in for a nasty surprise with a double Demoralise.
6Silvershield SheriffA cheap card to rent and its Snipe ability is useful at times. Good speed and high HP so it does wonders when given the time to execute.

  • Pre Battle: My gamble paid off when I saw 6 Melee attackers on the opposite side. They were surely in a nasty surprise with my double Demoralise, i.e. -2 Melee damage across the board. But will my offense be strong enough to pull through?
    image.png

  • Rounds 1-2: Let's go 2 rounds at one shot! As you can see, their Melee damage were all reduced to 1. That made it easier for Venari Crystalsmith to heal the HP back partially. 2 rounds went by and both tanks were still standing strong. A few misses from my end due to the Diemonshark's high speed.

  • Rounds 3-4: 2 rounds went by and both tanks were down. Warrior of Peace stood up to the challenge and absorbed 1 miss from Disintegrator.
    image.png

  • Rounds 5-6: Warrior of Peace absorbed its 2nd miss despite facing Water cards which typically had good speed. With Venari Crystalsmith healing 3 HP per turn, Warrior of Peace was hardly threatened.
    image.png

  • Rounds 7-8: Warrior of Peace absorbed its 3rd miss which again demonstrated the importance of high speed. The outcome of this battle was looking certain.
    image.png

  • Rounds 9-10: Serpent of Eld proved to be a tough nut to crack and the battle continued on after 10 rounds. In the meantime, Venari Crystalsmith was severely hunted by Deeplurker. Will there be enough time for the opponent to turn this around?
    image.png

  • Rounds 11-12: Serpent of Eld and Venari Crystalsmith both went down as Warrior of Peace absorbed a 4th miss. I can't lose this right?
    image.png

  • Round 13: There we have it! Warrior of Peace tanked for 10 rounds and still had 9 HP left!

Post Battle

Did my strategy work? I think my gamble of double Demoralise paid off handsomely as it severely reduced the damage received and the front tanks bought a lot of time for the backline. Warrior of Peace surprised me immensely for being able to survive so long despite being just a Common card.

Do I like Warrior of Peace? Yes, absolutely! I feel that it is very underrated and should be paired with Disintegrator if possible. Its high speed of 5 is also something that would shine when you see all the misses against him.

Final thoughts? I feel that I am always learning new stuff about cards and strategies, and I think this comes with the willingness to experiment with different cards aside from the given deck of cards. There are still many cards that I have yet to explore so I will continue doing so. And if I find more underrated cards, I will be sharing those here!

What are your takeaways from this battle? Feel free to comment below, as I am always keen to learn and improve!

As always, thanks for reading and have a pleasant day ahead!
