Share Your Battle - Yodin Zaku Teams Up With Antoid Platoon
The theme for the current "Share Your Battle" challenge is Antoid Platoon. To be honest, 99% of the time, my tank for Fire lineups would be Living Lava. But it's only recently when I started using Yodin Zaku, which takes up 7 mana, I realised I didn't have much mana left for the cards and Antoid Platoon fits nicely with just 4 mana.
Here's the Lore section for Antoid Platoon for reading interest:
An Antoid Platoon typically consists of five to seven Fire Ants, each approximately the size of a man's fist. They are well armored and wield shields and spears that, while tiny, provide a formidable defense and offense against the antoid's foes. Operating through a shared hive mind, the Antoid Platoon is employed to defend Ant Miners, other workers, the colony, and its queen. They are also known to become aggressive when invaders encroach upon their homes and surrounding territory.
Battle Type & Team Lineup
Position | Card | Notes |
---|---|---|
Summoner | Yodin Zaku | Definitely a powerhouse at high mana with a wide range of Ranged cards to pick from within Fire. |
1 | Antoid Platoon | The strategy here is to save on mana for the tank so that I could use all the big cards in the backline. |
2 | Molten Ash Golem | Weak damage but it's the backup tank given the high HP |
3 | Lava Launcher | Amazingly, Lava Launcher could also be a strong tank but its strength lies in the amount of damage it could deal. |
4 | Gargoya Devil | If you haven't realise, Gargoya Devil can also attack in the first position and this is a strong advantage. I never thought highly of this Rare reward card until recently. |
5 | Blood Maker | With 4 strong cards upfront, Blood Maker was selected due to its unique Scattershot ability and a good hit could deal 7 damage with Blast. |
6 | Countess Sinash | She completes the almost perfect Yodin Zaku lineup and her damage is deadly. |
- Pre Battle: I was pretty used to seeing Level 2 or 3 Summoners at my current rating, but seeing a Level 4 Summoner on the opposing end was quite a surprise. As always, I always felt like I was the underdog and let's see if there would be a surprise.
Round 1: With both sides putting out a strong lineup, my little tank was gone pretty fast, while Countess Sinash and Blast took out 2 cards on the opposing end.
Round 2: It was a race against time and my 2nd tank quickly got taken out. Fortunately, Countess Sinash struck out another card easily with her Opportunity ability and Blast took out another. 2 cards vs 3 cards now.
Round 3: Lava Launcher held its ground firmly as the tanky Harklaw was finally defeated.
Round 4: Countess Sinash took out her 3rd card in this battle and it was enough to secure a victory!

Post Battle
Did my strategy work? My strategy was mainly Yodin Zaku and big Ranged cards from Fire. Definitely paid off and it's amazing to beat a Level 4 Summoner!
Do I like Antoid Platoon? Yes, they are super cheap to rent and they do their job as a tank relatively well taking into consideration their 4 mana.
Final thoughts? Yodin Zaku really made my life easier playing Fire daily focus but I guess things are going to change (again) with the new updates. Oh well.
So that's all I have! What are your takeaways from this battle? Feel free to comment below, as I am always keen to learn and improve!
As always, thanks for reading and have a pleasant day ahead!
