What Time is it? Is Splinterlands Time!

Hey Everybody! Today I want to talk about something that I have noticed recently, as I read a lot about the Splinterlands direction, the players DAO and opportunities and challenges ahead of us.

Lately there is a lot of discussion going on about "What is happening in Splinterlands". As we see #bitcoin making new ATH and everybody and their mother getting spikes of 20-30-40% , lots of players wonder why nobody seems to notice us: Hive, Leo, DEC, SPS, the whole lot.

There are several reasons, one of them is some weird and obscure battle apparently going on at Mavericks-chat level by some whales that don't want to have SPS listed on a major exchange (Something basically everybody was asking a couple years ago).
Don't ask me why is that, because I'm clueless. Here it is a nice bit of pondering by the one and only @goldmatters that I found on Twitter (It's long but worthy!):

There are also clear signs that this year is the Year of Promotion, as @aggroed and @yabapmatt has repeatedly stated lately; after spending literally years polishing the game mechanics, the incentives flywheel and refining the Product Market Fit, Splinterlands is finally ready for the Big Leagues.

The first push is already done, with Aggy appearing in Killer Whales , a Shark Tank style show that will run on USA and everywhere else in Apple TV amongst others!

This push will surely help, as if we check the guys at playtoearn.net , this is the current "Social Scoring" of Splinterlands : A metric that checks the Social Media buzz, visits,* Daily Average Users* (DAUs) and so for. So this is us guys in the last three months:

We clearly have the momentum in our side, and it looks like the worst (2023 in a nutshell) is behind us.

But definitely lots of things need to change, look at the top crypto card games ranking. You will think that Splinterlands, being definitely a top 3 of the oldest, most extensive and stable crypto card game out there, will be in that top three, right? Think again!

That's right! 10th place! Do you know what do you get in a tournament, be it Poker, Magic or Splinterlands, if you don't make a Top 8? Nothing!
For Pete's sake, Pepemon, PEPE-freaking-MON! almost double us in Social score! O_o And don't make me talk about Ponzie Infinity, that pyramid-scheme disguised as battle monster game that made a few rich and a lot poor back in 2021....

So yeah, definitely lots of room to improve. I have the feeling that I'm being a bit impatient, this next 10 months are going to be really full of good news (The $COLONY sinergy, the Killer Whales effect, the bull market, new expansion, more promotion, Lands 2.0 in the works...) so I guess that nowadays it feels more like an opportunity to be ready and own all the cards, land and tokens that we want. Because People Will Come, Praise the Lord.

For the moment, I will keep staking my humble stash of SPS, battling daily and doing my best to show the game to my customers at my MTG store. (Do I have a MTG physical store? Damn sure! )
There is nothing better than being part of a high-conviction bet, in the financial side, and a fun game, in the, well, gaming side of things. And for me Splinterlands checks both boxes.
