Combining gold cards (And fumbling my count)

Maxing My Foundation Gold Cards

My venture for a MAX set continues. Foundation Cards and CHAOS cards have been our go to. As I look through my Foundation collection I'm reminded that I need just one more Gold Foil Dread Trafarian and I can max it. Lets go take a look at the official Splinterlands marketplace to see what the trade value for one is. Taking a quick look I can see there is one currently listed for trade at the value of $0.114 USD. Five others at the trade value of $0.12 USD. The asking price quickly jumps to $0.62+ cents afterwards. We just need one and at 11 cents I'm in. Lets make that purchase. Wait a minute, hold up - we need to decide if we want to purchase using Credits or DEC. For this round of purchasing we will choose Credits. Since we are out of Credits we need to purchase more using the easily accessible onsite wallet. One can purchase credits using Paypal or cryptocurrency. Since we are on the Hive Blockchain we will utilize the HBD payment method. Done and Done: we now have Credits handy for our card purchase. 1000 credits is equal to 1.00 USD. Lets make that card purchase now!

It's time to combine

Done and Done we now have enough Dread Tafarian gold cards to combine and make a max. Wait a minute - I somehow manage to misread my holdings. I currently have three Gold Dread Tafarian cards. Five are needed to create a MAX copy. How I made that blunder is beyond me. Ah well, looks like we will be combining our Gold Dread Tafarian to level 4 today. Nah, we said MAX so MAX is what we will get. Back to the Splinterlands card marketplace we go to purchase another. It's been some hours since we purchased the first one above. After doing so we notice the Splinterlands site was about to go in maintenance mode and decided to wait until afterwards to max our card. We got caught up with doing some other activities (poker) before coming back to complete this post. Anyways; looking at the card market I can see some new listings for Dread Tafarian has been placed up. I have no clue what the average going rate for one is but I see one available for 10.60 cents and I'm about to purchase it using some of our remaining credits. Done: now lets combine them all. Done: we now are the proud owners of a MAX gold foil Dread Tafarian. Winning our daily battles just got that much easier.

Post Intermission: Poker Stuff

My AA getting cracked. I played this hand perfectly but the river had other plans. There was a $0.23 bet preflop by the villain (villain = opponent in the poker world). I 3bet to $0.80. They 4bet to $2.10. Someone who is 4betting (a monster hand or bluff) is likely better than the average player. I suspect they would sniff out my aces if I were to jam so I smooth call. Flop comes low cards with two hearts on the board. Nothing overly concerning. The only hand I would be worried about is AK hearts. Villain bets $1 on the flop. Looks like a bet designed so they can see the turn. I'm almost certain they are going to fold to my $3 re-raise but they jam. I call expecting to be ahead and I am. They turn over QQ. Turn bricks but the river drops the queen. The site did offer me the option to accept 90% of the pot once the all in action concluded. I almost accepted it but I was running so hot that I let it run. This was at NL10 ($0.05/0.10 blind level: Max $10 buy in for the table). I was still +$36 for the session but that doesn't take away the sting.

Wait a minute something isn't right here.....

Look at that. No your eyes do not deceive you. That is a level 4 (not max) Dread Tafarian. I have no clue how I fumbled that count not once but twice. At this point I feel its just meant to be. I'm not suppose to have a MAX Dread Tafarian today. The universe is telling me - not today @rentmoney. I'll listen to the universe and get the last card tomorrow or the next day to combine into the level 4 I already have. Who knows maybe I'll get real lucky and flip one in my daily rewards that I'm about to complete after finishing up with this post.
