Your Witness Vote Matters

As noted above those who run for witness operate what is known as nodes (servers) to secure that the HIVE Blockchain is opperating correctly and smoothly. Each account on HIVE has a total of 30 Witness Votes. Thats right each of you can vote for 30 different witnesses. Some users utilize all their votes others like me vote sparingly (I think 30 votes is way too many but that is a discussion for another time). The top voted Witness of the HIVE chain do get paid and have the most control over the blockchain so make sure you don't hand out your vote willy nilly. Vote for those who you consider bring value to the chain. Of course the 30 votes are yours to vote however you please. And if voting for willy nilly is what you want to do than by all means go ahead and do that.

Who Does RentMoney Vote For?

Why Those Votes?

Aggroed: I vote for Aggroed because he does many things for the HIVE Blockchain. The big one (which I'm sure you heard of) is being the founder of the most popular game on the Hive Network possibly all of crypto (Splinterlands). His contribution to the Network doesn't end there. He also is the founder of Hive-Engine which is responsible for allot of amazing things such as Tribes and Second Lawyer Hive Tokens such as SPT/ Leo and more.

Yabapmatt: Yabapmatt is an animal. The amount of work he puts in to maintain Splinterlands is unbelievable. We of the Splinterlands community joke about needing to clone him because he is that good at what he does. Him being one of the founders of Splinterlands is more than enough to secure my vote. His Hive contributation doesn't end with Splinterlands. He also has helped create/develop Hive Apps such as Hive-Engine and Hive Keychain.

Arcange: I vote for Arcange because I see all the hard work he put in with welcoming new members to the chain. Making his top post of (day/week ect.) list (back when he did those) was something I always thought was a great way to welcome and retain new users to the chain. Arcange is the Developer of HiveBuzz, HiveSQL, Engage, Hive.NET, Hive Recovery and Hive Autoclaim.

TimCliff: I voted for TimeCliff due to having some similar opinions as he had on specific issues that were plaguing the HIVE chain. At the time of casting my vote I seen he was being an active member of the HIVE community. That was enough to secure my vote at that point in time.

Battlegames: I vote for Battle games because my Hive blog is gamer focused and BattleGames was the first general content gaming Tribe created on the Hive network. Currently it seems as the Battle Tribe and Witness activity are at a stand still but I still think this Tribe and its token BATTLE show promise.

New Votes Incoming

Its been a very long time since I updated/casted new votes. With the Hive blockchain being more popular than ever its important to make sure we are voting for Witnesses that are pushing HIVE in the right direction. Its for that reason I have decided to add some names to my (Very) slowly growing voted for Witness list.

  • LeoFinance
  • SteemitBoard (HiveBuzz)

Why Vote For @leofinance

The better question is why not. Have you seen all that Leofinance does for HIVE. If not here is an exampe of some of those things. They run one of the most popular Tribe sites that has the same name as its Witness account (LeoFinance). LeoFinance has brought us an onslaught of other great apps and currencies such as LeoDex / LeoPedia / HiveStats / Cub Finance and Wrapped LEO. Just as important as all the previous mentioned reasons to vote for Leofinance the Tribe creator and team are very active with creating and curating content. User retention is important and they are great at it.

Why Vote For @hivebuzz

As noted above one of the Witness I vote for is the developer for HiveBuzz so for that reason alone it peeked my interest. I was aware of HiveBuzz for sometime but I have never got around to voting for them. They have done a great job with creating and awarding achievements for those of us who interact on the Hive Blockchain. This is a fun way to help track our progress on Hive and is a great way to help with user rentention. Like most on my voted for Hive Witness list they are very active within the Hive Community. Curating and commenting on users posts. Its for these reasons I decided to vote for HiveBuzz (Steemitboard).

How To Vote

Front EndLink To Witness Page
Hive.BlogVote Here
EcencyVote Here
PeakdVote Here

Above I have listed three Hive Frontends and included a direct link to the Witness voting page. Below I will also provide a quick step by step guide on how to get to the Witness voting section. The guide below is for the Hive.Blog frontend. Most other frontends will have similar steps in which will bring you to their witness page.

(1) Go to Hive.blog
(2) Scroll to top of page
(3) Click the triple bar (≡)
(4) Scroll down to and click Vote For Witness

After following the above steps you will be brought to the Hive Blochchains Witness page. It is here where you can vote for your favorite Witness. Voting is easy, simply click the up arrow next to the Witness you want to vote for. If you can't find the Witness in the provided list its likely because the account you are looking for is outside the top 200 witnesses. To find such a witness you can type out the name of the account you are looking for in the designated area found at the bottom of the page.

Voted for a Witness and they are no longer active. Has your view points changed or do they no longer match up with a Witness you have previously voted for. Maintaining and Updating your Witness votes is just as important as the initial voting process. If you feel as you want to unvote someone than the Hive Network allows you to do just that. Its your vote and you can do with it as you please.

Are You A Witness?

If so lets hear the reasons why the users of HIVE should vote for you. Shill away in the comment section below. Provide any information and links to your Hive Blog / Hive Apps you helped create or maintian and if those stumbling upon this topic like your reasoning you just might find yourself getting some extra votes on your witness account.

Excellent choices. It is important to support what you want to see more of on the Chain. I vote for all but one that you have mentioned.

I vote for people building projects and recently I have unvoted groups that I feel are bad for adoption and retention.

The system you use for voting/unvoting sounds spot on to how I hope to cast my votes. Adaption and retention are big on my check list for a witness vote.

I've never been good at shilling. Why vote for me? Well one thing is I run my node from home, so it's not in a datacenter, everything is owned by me. makes it more decentralized I guess?

I stream a lot on @vimm and support the platform and run a few communities and help out with others.
EDIT: I also run witnesses for hive-engine and dlux and have done some development on some of the tools witnesses use, mostly bugfixes.

Communities I run: Gridcoin (GRC)(PeakD) / Gridcoin (GRC) (hive.blog)| Fish Keepers (PeakD) / Fish Keepers (hive.blog)
Check out my gaming stream on VIMM.TV | Vote for me as a Hive witness! and Hive-engine witness!

Good choices on your votes. Not to discount anyone else or their efforts, but I firmly believe that the efforts of @aggroed and @yabapmatt are the most important contributors to the growth of Hive.

To be honest, I'm surprised they are not in the top ten. The amount of onboarding from Splinterlands alone is amazing. Then we have Keychain and Hive-Engine plus much more. Its insane the amount of stuff they have their hand in. I couldn't imagine doing all that they do. I can barely keep up with a daily blog post + Splinterlands and its rentals.

Thanks for his opportunity to talk about my witness.

I am "Hive's Lawyer", the only active lawyer on Hive who helps the community with legal issues affecting the blockchain. I was active against Justin Sun and am involved in lots of small ways behind the scenes.

I also run the Crypto Class Action (with @jpbliberty) which is seeking damages from Facebook and Google for everyone in crypto (especially Hiveans) for the anti-competitive banning of crypto ads in 2018.

I also pioneered running a Hive witness on a Windows Home machine (the most common type of PC hardware) and have posted instruction guides on this.

Great list of Witnesses and your endorsement is very clear and explained. Guess I should distribute more upvotes for the Witnesses.
