Adjusting my collection

A couple weeks back I listed some reg foil UNTAMED cards for sale within the official Splinterlands players marketplace. I did notice a bulk sale of a specific card I listed did go through. That cards name, Lone Boatman - the sale price was $0.128 USD. The date of the sale was April 1st, 2026. Lets see what the today's (2026-04-13) asking price is for that same card variant ($0.118). Looks like the asking price did dip a little. A penny here or there isn't unusual for price fluctuations with such assets. With the Hive Token being as wallet friendly to attain as it is and with DEC USD trade value currently at roughly 50% its soft peg this seems as a great time to turn some of my gaming assets into currencies. It's for those reasons I decided to put some of my UNTAMED collection on the market. I'll decide what to do with any currencies attained at a later date but it will very likely be one of these three things: (1) Hive Power (2) Hold the DEC (3) reposition it into something Splinterlands related. I do have some listed already as noted above. None or very little gold cards have been listed but I will be going over those and listing them soon after this post goes live. I'll likely keep a few for the collection.

Lone Boat-Man Lore:

Lore taken from the official Splinterlands site

Covering the dirtiest work in the land, the Boatmen are an extremely important piece of the Khymian societal machine. They manage the fishing and seafood industry, but also maintain the boats and control all InterSplinter trade. Boatmen are the only Khymians to live consistently outside the mountain walls. Sadly, when Khymeria is attacked by outside forces, the Boatmen are the first to know. They are however, a physical force to be reckoned with.

DEC At 50%

DEC being at 50% of its trade value is an important factor in my decision. If you are looking to trade DEC for other currencies on the open market this is not a favorable price point. However if you are looking to attain DEC and either (A) use it to purchase assets directly from SPL (B) Hold it in hopes it gets closer to peg; now seems as a good time as any to do that. Reminder: Splinterland accepts DEC at a rate of $1/1000 regardless of DEC open-market trade value. Direct card pack purchases from the Splinterlands company is an example of such (do with that information what you will). The above screenshot shows that DEC currently has a 24hr trade volume of $5,281 on TribalDex. For me that is a very healthy market to be partaking in. For comparison the in-house Hive:HBD market has roughly $6800 worth of trade volume in that same 24hr period (numbers for the date of 2026-04-13). DEC in the world of TribalDex is king as it routinely holds the number one spot on the list of TribalDex tokens that are actively being traded. For those who might not know DEC = Dark Energy Crystals (SPL in-game currency).

Concluding Thoughts:

That's it for this post. Last week I had a nice run of being able to play some ranked battles and hope to go on another run as soon as life allows. I think I might get some time today after listing some UNTAMED Gold Cards for sale to collect a daily reward or two. If time further allows I might go over my Foundation set and add to it. I do have some CREDITS I purchased using HBD just some days ago that are burning a hole in my virtual pocket as noted in my previous post titled, Lets Purchase Some Credits 2026-04-08. I think they will be utilized purchasing packs but we will see. As always we thank you for visiting the @rentmoney blog and hope to see you again at our next post. Upcoming content: more gaming content.

It's an interesting strategy to re-think your assets from time to time.

Market is currently brutal not only for stocks and crypto but for SL cards too.
All the best for selling the card.

I have very fond memories of the Untamed cards; I suppose it was because they coincided with the crypto wave of late 2020. From this collection, I only managed to get two common cards and one golden rare. The only Archon I got was Byzantiny Kitty from a pack I got in a seasonal chest. Your collection is excellent. Regards.

And what a wave that was. That Archon you got is one of the best of its time - everyone was after it. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. !PIZZA

I'm going through the journey of selling a portion of my cards too at the moment. I just find that my interests have shifted and that I want to spread my investments around a little bit more.

Hi @tsnaks, its great to see you commenting. I hear you - there is so much out there and moving a little from pile A to pile B is a sound strategy. Good luck with all your goals.
