Purchasing More HIVE Tokens (Chaos Legion: 90 Cents Wowsers)
I been a slacker over the past months when it comes to maintaining my Hive Blog and Hive Blockchain on-goings but that doesn't mean I have forgotten about my goals and other obligations. One such goal is to increase my HIVE Tokens and HIVE Power. I've been stopping by LeoDex and Hive-Engine somewhat frequently and notice that DEC is currently trading at 0.00306 HIVE. To put that in USD terms; 1000 DEC is now worth roughly 88 cents on the secondary markets. While this is 12% below its intended USD value I feel as getting 3* HIVE per 1000 DEC is something that shouldn't be over-looked. Considering I decided to put a hold on investing any more Fiat funds; trading my DEC for HIVE seems like the next best option: so that is what I will do. First I need to transfer my DEC (Dark Energy Crystals) from my Splinterlands wallet to my Hive-Engine (LeoDex) wallet. An easy pain-free process.
Done, now lets get to trading my 30,000 DEC for HIVE Tokens. Looking at the trade orders I can see that 0.003076 is the highest Asking price while 0.003063 is the highest Buy price. How do these prices reflect on my 30,000 DEC trade (Lets take a look). If I were to set a sell order and it filled my 30,000 DEC would gross me 92.271 HIVE Tokens. If I were to sell directly to the buy orders my 30,000 DEC would gross me 91.8813. So as you see there isn't a huge difference (Less than half a HIVE Token). This makes my decision very easy. I will opt to sell directly into the buy order.
And just like that I'm 92* HIVE Tokens richer. I do intend on completing a power-up at some point but considering my lack of activity on-chain as recent I will hold off from doing that for when I have more time for on-chain interactions. The other asset that instantly popped out to me when viewing assets on the HIVE-Dex's is the price of Chaos Legion Packs. I can't believe they are selling for roughly $0.90 USD. If Splinterlands continues to be a success I predict there will be a time in which we all kick ourselves in the rear for not hoarding as many of these very affordable packs as possible.

Apart from buying Dec, how else can we earn it?
Trade ones cards on the open market on the official site or secondary sites. One can earn DEC playing the game and sometimes there is DEC offered in Specific tournaments. One could sell the SPS earned from playing the game to attain some DEC. I know they use to give DEC rewards to the top players in each league as well but I'm not sure if that got changed or not.

Ha! I've been headed the other direction lately, trading some Hive for DEC. Too much going on in Splinterlands in the near future not to have all the DEC I can get my hands on!
I'm very behind with Splinterland news. I will have to go visit their blog and skim some of their recent topics after I'm done replying here. I have a little more DEC put away in an alt account that I might use for what-ever Splinterlands has planned to sell us next but for the most part I think my spending on Splinterlands has come to a crawl. I'm still undecided on if I will invest in this next edition.

Where you been brother? just kidding Did you catch the Splinterlands news about layoffs and new card packs coming soon? I think chaos packs are at a crazy discount but I also think the underlying asset (the cards you get) is way down in value. It will take a rally in the card prices to get the pack price up.
Had to do some minor house repairs that took more time waiting for the parts to come in then it did to actually do the job and as with most projects I ran into some hiccups along the way. Luckily those hiccups weren't costly or hard to fix but were time consuming/annoying.
I did not, I'm going to read their latest blog posts in some moments time.
I agree, it will be interesting to see what happens once the new set comes out. I think CL being so affordable hurts the sale of the new set but we will see.
