To say I been neglecting my Splinterlands collection would be an understatement. I still play ranked battles when I can but there was a time I played daily for months on end. I'm always flip flopping on what to do with my collection. Fully selling it likely will never be an option for me but eventually I will sell a portion. Mainly to have some "fun" money and to up my HIVE and LEO holdings but that is still months away. When joining Splinterlands I never played a game like it before. I am not your traditional card player unless it involves a deck of 52 and some wagering (Poker). As everyone knows Splinterlands is not that. No wagers are taking place, we buy our cards and we earn with them by playing the game. When first Starting my Splinterlands journey I had no clue what I was doing or what to expect but I came to the conclusion that keeping most my cards at Level One was the best case scenario for me. You see, when selling our Splinterland cards Level One will fetch the highest yield of any counter-part of the same variety over other various levels. This left me with a limited amount of MAX cards. With that in mind I had the thought it was about time I pick up some MAX level cards.

To The MAX

Browsing the card marketplace on the Splinterlands official webpage I can see there are plenty of cheap one cent cards on the market. With commons needing 400 copies combined to make a max level card that means one can currently purchase specific MAX Level commons for $4.00 USD or under. A MAX Level Splinterlands card for $4.00 USD (Is this real life or am I dreaming?). Sure some of them might not be the most sought after or played cards but again, these are MAX Level Splinterland cards we are talking about. With the new Splinterland Tower Defense game being developed (to use Splinterland cards), Land on its way (Will need Splinterland cards to fully utilize) and who knows what else is in the pipeline, having MAX Level cards regardless of what card that might be can only be a positive thing. So here I go to hit the official Splinterlands Card Marketplace to purchase some of these very cost friendly NFT's (cards).

The above screenshot was taken from the site known as PeakMonsters. A secondary Splinterlands marketplace that has oodles of friendly to use features in which the general Splinterlands community can utilize at their convenience. Such features as card rental capabilities with amazing sort features, a bid section in which you can place bid for cards, an explorer section in which you can view your recent Splinterland activities and much more. I can go on all day about the awesomeness that is PeakMonsters but its best you visit the site yourself to get a full understanding of all the site has to offer. Visit @peakmonsters today: https://peakmonsters.com/. As you can see from the screenshot above every purchase but one is under $3.00 USD. In fact most are between the price of $2.25-$2.75. The purchased amount of $5.594 represents the purchase of Two cards. In total I spent under $30 USD and ended up with Eleven Maxed Splinterland Cards. There is even a Rare Mixed in the bunch (Lets take a closer look).

The Exploding Rats card might not be the most played card in the Splinterlands game but there are specific scenarios in which the card does come in handy. Melee attack from all positions is just one of the scenarios that comes to mind. The card itself is of the Rewards edition and is a Rare. I paid just $2.28 for this card at MAX Level. The only downside (if you want to call it that) is if one is paying with DEC that they already own. Currently Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) is below its intended peg of $1.00 USD per 1000 DEC. The Splinterlands game itself always accepts DEC at the $1/1000 ratio but when players/investors are purchasing from the Splinterlands in game marketplace we are not purchasing from Splinterlands. We are purchasing from other players so the time of sale DEC price is used when calculating the price of a card (NFT). The current DEC market rate is $0.00067 making it much better to use Credits (if you have them) to purchase any current Splinterland cards instead of using DEC you may already own. On the flip side of that you could also purchase DEC from any of the multiple HIVE Dex's (Hive-Engine, LeoDex, TribalDex, Ect.) and then use that DEC to purchase cards. This will give the purchaser of any Splinterland cards an additional discount of roughly 33% (Potential discount fluctuates minute to minute and is dependent on the price of DEC being below its $1/1000 soft peg).

Purchase DEC AT....

What is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a Play To Earn blockchain game built on the Hive Network. The game itself utilizes NFT's for game play. These NFT's can be won in battle and/or purchased from the official Splinterlands marketplace or many other secondary markets. Click Here To Play Splinterlands Today!

I love these cheap reward cards.
If I wasn't pooling funds for GLS then I would pick up a few hundred worth of them and wait for the price to rise.

I have about $300 in credits in which most of is going to be used for purchasing these lower cost common/rare cards. If nothing else at least I will have some MAX cards to play with.

I used these cheap cards to up the power level of my deck. I added 70,000 of power for cheap. They are definitely a deal if you have a use for them. Now I'm debating leveling up some summoners so I can use some of these cards in game 🤔

Smart play, one could also rent out the MAX card if they don't have a summoner that matches its level.

Splinterland has never let me down so I'm still in. Although I must admit that now I am more focused on the pools than on the Cards.

I pulled a decent amount of my HIVE out of the pools recently. I needed some HIVE to top up my Tower Defense purchase so I had to cut back on something. That something was pools.

I was buying and renting out max cards a few weeks ago, and I thank you for reminding me to pursue this strategy. I hope prices are even lower now :)
