NFT Scarcity Through Usage
I figured out a solution to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the Gods Unchained economy. Devs need to introduce card degradation based on usage. For example after a Diamond-quality NFT has been used in 20,000 matches, it would automatically be downgraded back to Meteorite quality. This one prevent an infinite farming loop where players rely indefinitely on Diamond decks without ever re-entering the market. This will create ongoing demand for forging and players will need to upgrade cards again, while also reducing the circulating supply of higher-quality cards over time—supporting healthier, higher prices in the long run. Plus NFT grading system could be introduced based on card usage: a never-used card could be graded 10, a card with 1000 matches graded 8, and so on. This would add another layer of value, collectability, and strategic decision-making to the ecosystem.
This would help reducing the supply of infinite printing core cards with no value, battle pass would make sense and collectors would finally be rewarded for holding rare nfts because in the long term prices would go up.(Games demanded could be different for every set, considering the total supply and dont forget that theoretically they can reprint everything except from genesis).
Moreover this could fight the renting abuse and people wouldnt list expensive diamond cards for 0.005$ ( like now) in order to be able to rent their cards.
