A Tough EOS for Rentals!

avatar

I had a signficantly worse ending of season financially for card rentals....

Screenshot 20211231 at 08.45.16.png

141 cards released from rental in the last hour, now it's new season!

Last season I was able to get most of my cards out for around 44 DEC per Collection Power (CP).

This season most of them just wouldn't budge for that price, only the very best (Valnamor for example), so I had to put them on a fire sale at 60 and then 70 DEC per CP.

I ended up with around 17K DEC in daily rentals. last EOS it was 30K.

Although I think i may have messed up a bit by putting the cards on slighly too late, with some of them, I got in with around 10 hours to go rather than my usual 14 for the final rush.

But whatever, with this kind of difference, rentals are well down, no surprise.

I guess this will mean more downward pressure on card prices as the yields deteriorate, both in the DEC and dollar terms, given the declining price of DEC too.

It's just a matter of being patient and sitting this through, waiting for a time to pick up more DEC and more cards too - one more month, hopefully and it's buying time!

Yeah I agree that the rentals have dipped quite a lot this season. I guess we just have to make the best out of the current situation since the price of DEC is not something we can really control.

My rentals were down by a third in terms of DEC and by a half in terms of dollars. Maybe that's a bit more realistic long term.

Happy New Year to you!

Yeah those prices a month back weren't sustainable!

But you now $30 a day is still not bad for doing nothing, not as nice as $60 a day, but OK!

Happy New Year!

My rental revenue is about the same this EOS. Not because the prices didn't go down, but because I finally separated things and now I'm able to manage rentals in bulk better.

Oh well trust me, they were well down on last season, so that's a real testimony to how well your new strategy works, so good move!

Ya, this one was crazy low. Both earlier on in the last 24 hours (I rented for some alts to brawl), and my own cards, in the last few hours - WAAAAAYYYY lower prices, and most of my stuff didn't rent at all.

100+ CP/DEC not renting out at EoS... Either the holidays just made it weird, or we're in a new era for SPL.

Everyone's earning less, you know that NO ONE got into C1 this season, that can't help, I think this is a trend, and it's only going to get worse when ALL those Chaos cards come on line.

To my mind I'm stacking cards for LAND, and it's just a matter of holding through what I think might be a low point economically for SL in the next couple of months.

And happy new year!

This post does a great job of highlighting just how valuable power is to the overall worth of cards. I very much think land is going to impact card prices more than anyone really knows. It's going to be a wild ride, and I don't intend to waste this prime buying market.
