Splinterlands Battle Mage Challenge: Earthquake victory with Runemancer Kye!

This week's Battle Mage rule set challenge was Earthquake in which every monster which doesn't have the flying ability takes two damage to health at the end of each round.

Earthquake general strategy....

I tend to find that it's most definitely worth playing some of the better flying monsters to avoid the 2 damage points.

Also shields and repair can work well as shields soak up damage. And triage too because all monsters take damage if they don't have flying.

Health gaining buffs also work well, such as scavenge and life leach, and generally the higher the mana the more useful these are.

This is a great rule set for the dragon splinter which has a lot of flying monsters, which make sense!

EVENS carnage battle exemplar

The battle below features the most excellent Runemancer Kye in a comprehensive victory!

Mana and rulesets:

• Mana 24
• Earthquake only

** Summoner - Lilly Shielpaw** - for the triage, mainly.

• Gloridax Soldier - flying and shield, a decent tank for this ruleset
• Chicken - 0 mana soak
• Ice pixie - flying and decent damage for the mana
• Runemancer Kye - the main card with that Life Leach!

The battle...

• round 1 - Our blows take out no one, but I lose my chicken to Earthquake
• round 2 - My opponent loses both his non flying cards to earthquake
• round 3 - I lose my tank straight off the bat
• round 4 - ditto for my ice pixie, but I immediately respond by taking out Osheanus, battered by Earthquake damage
• rounds 5 and 6 - with only flying monsters left we trade blows for no losses.
• round 7 - I take out the Gargoyle
• round 8 - it's all over, I take out the final card.

And the might Kye finishes on 14 health!

Final battle analysis

This battle was really all about Runemancer Kye, what a card, what a survivor with flying and life leach!

My opponent put too much faith in Osheanus, with no healing that was always going down after 5 rounds whatever!
