Splinterlands Battle Mage Challenge: Unprotected/ Schooled in Speed!

This week's Battle Mage rule set challenge is Unprotected in which the armour buff is negated.

Armoured up general strategy....

The first principle has to be to avoid any monsters or summoners who usually have armour, as there's no point. The chances are there'll be better monsters without armour, as having armour means they won't have something else!

For attack, just think about whatever armour is usually good for defending against and go with that... opportunity, blast, sneak, snipe, are all great!

Strengthen, triage and plenty of healing and high health are all things to look out for too.

And of course, as always, speed, to elicit those misses!

Magic has no special bonus either as that usually ignores armour, but I wouldn't necessarily advise NOT defending against it - it's still as viable an attack as ranged or melee, and it can't miss, don't forget!

Unprotected battle exemplar

The battle below shows a battle featuring the Dragon with Water splinter in a comprehensive victory!

Mana and rulesets:

• Unprotected
• Mana - 33

The Line Up...

Summoner - Kitty - just the best!

• Bajikeera - GREAT 6 mana tank, so much health and decent speed.
• Torrent Fiend - snipe and opportunity soak
• Feasting seaweed - opportunity 1
• Deep Lurker - opportunity 2
• Dragon Jumper - opportunity 3
• Mershalli Guardian - tank heal.

The battle...

• round 1 - I take out Soul Fiend, Harpy and Time Mage, that's Speed! My opponent fails to take out my Bajikeera, due to one miss, that was statistically very likely! That's speed!
• round 2 - I take out the Pelacor Arbelist and then the Prismologist
• rounds 3 and 4 - it takes me a couple of rounds to take out that whatever it is in tank as it gets enraged.

However by R4 it's all over and I am 6 for 6!!!

Final battle analysis

My speed totally overwhelmed my opponent. Three of his monsters went down in round one, then a miss on my tank, then two down in round in two. This battle was only ever going one way after that!

HINT: There's no point going for heavy hitters when they are so slow!

Errr - SPEED! Is VERY useful!
