Splinterlands Challenge of the Week: Life Sapper

This week's Splinterlands Challenge of the Week was to showcase the Life Sapper from the Death Splinter...

This is an interesting card for three mana with one magic damage, two health and two speed, but also Life Leach which can offset the low health.

The battle below features a Level 1 Life Sapper strutting his stuff in an easy victory in a low mana battle...

The Rule Set and Line Up

  • Mana cap 14
  • Standard Rules apply (Bronze League!)

Summoner - Thadius

  1. Crypt Beatle - a decent low mana tank
  2. Corpse Fiend - a useful 0 mana second tank
  3. Spirit Hoarder - one magic damage and triage
  4. Life Sapper - the feature card!
  5. Theodora Nightshade - one magic damage and sneak soak.

Did my strategy work?

Beautifully, to see it in action click here!

  • Round 1 - My magic attacks take out two of my enemies low health monsters
  • Round 2 - straight off the bat I lose my Beatle followed by the Corpse Fiend aOUCH!
  • Round 3 - I lose my Spirit Hoarder, now the Life Leach is in front and I take out his final two monsters!

How important was The Life Leach

It was testimony to the Leach that he ended up with 5 health points due to Life Leach so there was plenty more soak leftT

And he did chip in with his one magic damage.

But I think this particular battle was more a case of my opponent losing it rather than me winning with my card selection - he simply had too few cards and two many with low health and unprotected compared to my own selections!

Final Thoughts: Life Leach - worth buying?

I think so.... at max level we have a powerful card for three mana - 2 damage, 4 health and speed and two abilities...

It's a great choice for lower mana battles!

If you don't yet play Splinterlands, why not give it a go?
