What Splinterlands Cards to Buy Next...?

Now that both LAND and Rebellion are in full-swing the SL market is starting to market and card prices across the various sets seem to be levelling out in relation to both $ per PP and rental returns.

Only a couple of months ago by far the cheapest way to get PP for land was to buy chaos cards, especially the regular rares. However the problem here is that with the cheapest rares there was no real rental market, even for maxed cards, at least if yer relying on a bot to find the best daily prices, given the 1 DEC listing fee.

To my mind it's always made more sense to buy gold chaos cards as the potential max PP per DEC staked to land is so much higher, and this is especially the case on occupied or magic plots offering 100% bouns on SPS and RESEARCH respectively - essentially a gold maxed rare offering 4K PP can be 3 times as expensive in terms of $ per PP than a regular rare offering only 1.2K PP if a 100% bonus is going to give you 8K compared to 2.4K, and it would still be worth buying the gold!

Also until only recently it just wasn't worth buying Untamed or Betas, here I only considered regulars as golds are just a bit too steep, but now that seems to have changed.

Below I look at a few select cards across the different sets and see what's worth buying, considering both PP price but also rental income. I'm looking at some of the better cards as these seem to be holding up in rental return value, basically because they are more useable!

I think it's a good idea to Vest in cards that offer both good PP and rental value, hedging against which you want to use them for going forwards...

A brief comparison of card prices...

Beta Epics....

Magi of the Forest is going for around 145K DEC and yields at 9%, and that's 40PP per $1 if yer staking it to land.

There's a similar rate going for a Defender of the Truth too.

Beta Rares...

A Twisted Jester Level 6 is going for around the 27K DEC mark, that's 70PP per $ and also rents at 9%.

Max undead priest going for just <100k DEC, the maxies yielding at 19% and that's 55PP per $.

Earth Elementals are slightly higher priced per PP, but seem to yield at around the 20% mark between L6-L8.

Epic and Rare Untamed cards

Gold Khmer Princess is going for around 65K DEC, l6 and yielding at 70%, that's 60PP per $.

And the Sporcerer, similar ratios, obvs cheaper as it's not GOLDEN!

CHAOS GOLD

Something like the Regal Peryton is up for 35K DEC max and that's <100 PP per $ and yields at 30%, the ever useful EPIC Grund is slightly more expensive, yielding at 20% higher up the levels.

FINAL THOUGHTS....

It's worth considering buying some maxed regular Betas and Untamed and NOT just gold CHAOS cards if yer thinking about LAND and rental yields.

My feeling is that it's worth buying a few old ones as they have probably reached the bottom of their value, given that they've been cycled out of Modern already, chances are whatever you buy now with Chaos and beyond are going to go down in value eventually!
