For this week, we are going to skip the traditional card feature. Instead, we are going to talk about the dream card group of most players. Today, we are going to talk about the Gold Foil Cards.
For this week's content we are going to discuss the following:
- HOW TO OBTAIN GOLD FOIL CARDS
- BENEFITS OF HAVING GOLD FOIL CARDS
- THE POWER OF GOLD FOIL CARDS
- THE GOLD FOIL CARDS THAT I HAVE
So without further ado, lets get started.
HOW TO OBTAIN GOLD FOIL CARDS?
Gold Foil Cards are cards that can be obtain in card packs. Alchemy Potion is the way to get these cards and everytime you open a card pack, 5 alchemy potion is automatically used. Alchemy potions double the chance of getting gold foil cards. It increases the chance from 2% to 4%. This potion can be buy at the shop or obtain it in a daily chests reward. Aside from using alchemy potion, Gold Foil cards that can be buy also at the market. Splinterlands offers an in-game market and three other websites to buy cards, which has their own features. On allof those three, I suggest to buy cards in CardAuctionz since it offers cashbacks. In the market in Splinterlands, so far the least expensive Gold Foil cards is 225 DEC or in credits, 667 credits.
BENEFITS OF HAVING GOLD FOIL CARDS
Gold Foil Cards are very rare in the game due to its high price and the rarity of getting it in the card packs. Having Gold Foil Cards is an advantage in the game because it offer lots of benefits.
The first benefit of Gold Foil Cards is the Dark Energy Crystal (DEC) Bonus. This bonus works on every rank battle. For every Gold Foil Cards used, there are additional of 10% DEC. Since the bonus works on every card, the maximum additional bonus can reach up to 70%. This is very helpful for the investors in the game because this will increase their income for each game and will fasten up to get back their capital.
The second benefit of having Gold Foil Card is the opportunity to join Special Tournaments.
In Splinterlands, there are tournaments happening everyday organized by the players as well. There are requirements for each tournaments and one of the requirements of other tournaments involves Gold Foil Cards. Since Gold Foil Cards are very expensive to have, the prizes for this kind of tournament are also pretty huge and amazing. This gives the player to gain bigger prizes in the game.
The third benefit of Gold Foil Cards is the fewer BCX needed to level up. In Splinterlands, in order for the cards to level up, players must combine two or more cards. There are specific number of combinations for each level and in Gold Foil Cards fewer are cards are needed compared to ordinary cards. This is helpful to all players since it is very expensive to have gold foil cards. Also, this only means that gaining larger Collection Power would be easy.
THE POWER OF GOLD FOIL CARDS
Gold Foil Cards have higher collection power compared to Regular Cards. Here are the sample comparison of two cards.
The GOLD FOIL CARD, TENYII STRIKER is a Rare Common Card that has Sneak ability. It has 2 melee attacks, 3 speed, and 6 lives. Its lowest level is level 2 and at its lowest level, its collection power is 500. A little overview about the Sneak ability. Monsters with Sneak ability attacks monsters in the back position first. In terms of the the power up on each level, it differs a lot to the Regular Foil Card. At level 3, this monster gains an additional to its melee attack and only requires a combination 2 BCX only. It has 1,000 collection power at this level. At level 4, this monsters gains new ability called Dodge. Monsters with Dodge ability has increase chance of evading attacks. Also, at this level, this monster has only 4 BCX and has 2,000 collection power. Next, at level 5, this monster has 7 health. It is 7 BCX at this level and has collection power of 3,500. At level 6, this monster gains another additional to its melee attack, making its attack 4 melee attack. At this level, this card is 11 BCX has 5,500 collection power. At level 7, this monster gains another ability called Backfire. Monsters with this kind of ability creates 2 damage to the attacker if the attack of the attacker misses to this monster. At its final level, level 8, this monster has 5 melee attacks, 4 speed, and 7 health and three abilities: Sneak, Dodge, and Backfire. At this level, it has 22 BCX and and has 11, 550 collection power.
The REGULAR CARD, TENYII STRIKER is a Rare Common Card that has Sneak ability. It has 2 melee attacks, 3 speed, and 6 lives. Its lowest level is level 1 and at its lowest level, its collection power is 20. A little overview about the Sneak ability. Monsters with Sneak ability attacks monsters in the back position first. In terms of the the power up on each level, it differs a lot to the Gold Foil Card. At level 2, it has 3 speed and has collection power of 100. It needs 5 BCX at this level. At level 3, this monster gains an additional melee attack and 280 collection power. At this level, it has 14 BCX. At level 4, this monster gains new ability called Dodge and has 500 collection power. Comparing this collection power to the Gold Foil Cards, that power is only same as Level 2 monster in Gold Foil. Also, at this level, this monster has 25 BCX. At level 5, this monster has 7 health and has collection power of 800. At this level, it has 40 BCX. At level 6, this monster gains another melee attack and has collection power of 1,200. At this level, it has 60 BCX. In level 7, it gains new ability called Backfire and has collection power of 1,700. It has 85 BCX at this level. At its final level, it needs 115 cards and has collection power of 2,415. This monster has also stats of 5 melee attacks, 4 speed, and 7 health and has three abilities: Sneak, Dodge, and Backfire.
THE GOLD FOIL CARDS THAT I HAVE
So far, the Gold Foil Card that I have is Tusk the Wide.
TUSK THE WIDE is a Gold Foil Epic Monster with Void ability. Monsters with this kind of ability reduces the magic damage creates by the opponent. This monster has 1 melee attack, 1 speed, and 13 health. Looking at the abilities and stats of this card, we can see that this card has the most potential of being a great tank. In terms of speed and melee attack, we cannot really rely on this card. Its speed shows that it cannot avoid any attacks and its speed shows that it can only create minimal damage. If ever you wan to use this card, make sure to focus on increasing the attacks and speed of this monster. The collection power of this card at level 2 is already 2,500. That is a really big help for me to increase my rank in Splinterlands and this card is also a big help for me on increasing my daily DEC income. I got this card by opening a Chaos Legion Pack.
