THE MIGHTY BATTLE OF THE EARTH DRAGON SPLINTERS

Hello, Splinter Community!

For this week battle, DRAGONS are the star of the game. DRAGONS are powerful cards because they can be use with any element. Using the DRAGON as your summoner in the battle, is a great strategy, not only during the game but also after the game. Why? Because DRAGONS gives us the opportunity to hide what element we really use in the battle. And that is a pretty good advantage.

This challenge is open for everyone and you can join too. Here are the rules for this week's challenge:

THE BATTLE

The battle for today is 13 mana cap and No Standard. Meaning, any elements can be used as long as the total mana of all the cards are fitted in 13 mana cap.

Many players will think that a 13 mana cap is not a good mana cap and I disagree with that. Yes, we cannot use high mana monsters with powerful abilities at this mana cap, but if we look on the other side of this, you will notice that this mana cap only simplifies our choices in card picking. This mana cap let us think of one or two cards that can win the whole game. We just need to be careful in picking cards with this mana cap.

THE CARDS

My strategy for this battle is to elevate the defensive state of my monsters so that they can last longer in the battle. In terms of offense, I decided to use cards that can create the most damage.

For the Summoner, I decided to use the DRAKE OF ARNAK

Summoners are the one that sets up the battlefield. Choosing the best summoner for the game is a must because if you failed to do that, then the opponent's Summoner will take over the game.

The DRAKE OF ARNAK is a Rare Dragon Summoner that gives an increase to your monsters. Having a shield in the game is highly recommendable, especially if your monster has low health, because shields can resist melee and range attack. Although shield is useless against magic attacks, still, it reduces the other damages of the opponent's monsters.

Next, for my first position monster or the tank on the battle, I decided to use VENARI KNIFER.

The VENARI KNIFER is a Common Earth Monster with Thorns ability. Monsters with this kind of ability does damage back to the attacker that attacks it using melee attack. This card is a very powerful common card because even though your attack misses, still, you can create damage to your opponent by letting it attack this card. This card has 2 melee attack, 4 shield, and 7 lives. By looking at characteristics of this card, we can really say that this is a perfect tank if you are using Earth Splinters. Also, this card is perfect with the Dragon Summoner, DRAKE OF ARNAK, because if the monster with melee attack attacks this card, then shield will resist the attack and in exchange to that, damage will be gain by the opponent due to Thorns.

Lastly, the second card that I use on this battle is VENARI SCOUT.

The VENARI SCOUT is a Common Earth Splinter with Opportunity ability. Monsters with this kind of ability attacks the monster with lowest health. Also, this monster can attack from any position. With that, we can really say that this is a good card for battle. The VENARI SCOUT has 1 melee attack, 2 speed, and 3 lives. By looking at its overall characteristics, we can say that this card is one of the asset in the battle. Yes, it has low life, but with its ability, it may eliminate the strongest monsters in the field.

THE FIGHT

ROUND 1: THE BATTLE EFFECTS

At this round, the two summoners contest their abilities. The DRAKE OF ARNAK increases the shields of my monsters but this was negated by the WIZARD OF EASTWOOD. The WIZARD OF EASTWOOD reduces my shield by 2 and this effect terrifies me because one of my strategy did not work.

After the two summoners take turns on contesting their abilities, the first one to attack is VENARI KNIFER. It attacks first due to its high speed. VENARI KNIFER attacks FAILED SUMMONER, leaving it now with only 2 lives. The next monster that attacks is VENARI SCOUT. This is the next monster that attacks because no monster left in the field with the ability to attack. Due to it, the FAILED SUMMONER has now 1 life.

ROUND 2: THE EARTH ATTACKS

For the second round, VENARI KNIFER attacks first again. This attack eliminates the FAILED SUMMONER in the field. With that, UNICORN MUSTANG was now placed in the first position. The next monster that attacks is the VENARI SCOUT, leaving one damage to the opponent.

ROUND 3: THE START OF THE REAL FIGHT

For this round, the battle become intense. There are now exchanges of attacks. The UNICORN MUSTANG attacks first and this created a damage over him. Next, VENARI KNIFER attacks and created 2 melee damage followed by VENARI SCOUT. Looking at its current state, UNICORN MUSTANG is having a very difficult time to create an attack without any damage.

ROUND 4: THE EARHTLY WIN

At this round, the attacks continues. UNICORN MUSTANG continue to attack but it only created damage over him. Next, *VENARI KNIFER attacks and that ends the whole battle.

CONCLUSION

Overall, the battle is good. It is not that intense. It only become intense on round 3 up to the final round. For the DRAGON summoner, the DRAKE OF ARNAK, I am not really satisfied at its performance due to the fact that its ability can be negated easily. I know it is a strong card but that strongness can be taken away by other summoners. This summoner is good if it is used against the different summoner. So it is better to make sure that the effect of this card, in the battle, will be effective.
