In this week's Battlemage the battle chosen was one from within the Splinterlands Tournament, between Water x Earth. In addition to talking about the ruleset that was Equalizer, we will exchange ideas about the changes in Ranked and how matches will never be the same again.

I'll be much appreaciated if you Upvote, Reblogs or give any Tips ( PIZZA 🍕, PGM 🎮, LOLZ 😆, ALIVE ❤️, etc ). Thanks and have good reading! 🍀

[ENGLISH VERSION]

⚔️ Ranked System Overhaul? ⚔️

[Souce: Town Hall]

I waited for the update and played right when the game came back from maintenance. At first it ended up having a bug when selecting, not showing the right level and abilities of the cards at the highest level, but after a hard refresh it started showing correctly.
What Matt said that it will take a while for players to find the level at which they gain 50% is true, because in silver yesterday people were very strong with max and gold foil decks, but on the one hand it was good.
With more card options at different levels, the game, in my opinion, became more fun and more competitive too, because yesterday I even had a stronger deck and lost to someone with a weaker deck who played better.

[Souce: Town Hall]

Furthermore, in the town hall the team has already announced the next step of the rankeds update, which will be the reformulation of rewards for a store system, which will initially be chests similar to what we are used to, but without SPS and only soul bound cards, but later we will have titles, cosmetics and much more. Furthermore, you can burn the sould bounds that you already have in large quantities for Dust and be able to get more chests.
Also, at the Town Hall, Nate shared a little about the modernization of the game's arts, one example being the leagues, which are 1000x more beautiful in the images he shared.

📌 RULES // MATCH 📌

Source

In this ruleset, the least important thing is the HP of each monster, because they are all equalized at the beginning of the game based on the highest HP between the cards on both teams. Even so, it is worth using strong cards, which would have low HP as a negative point. An example of a card is Explosise Rat, which has a lot of Speed and blast and in this ruleset you don't need to worry about only having 1 HP.

Also, other good additions if the game is low mana is to place fiend or 1 mana type monsters, because they will have the maximum HP among the monsters. Also, using a monster that has Heal like Venari or Merdalli is great, because there will be several monsters to heal. Still, it's best not to use attacks like Sneak or Snipe because all the monsters will be difficult to defeat, so it's best to concentrate all attacks in a single point.

⚔️ ABOUT THE LINEUP ⚔️

Source

In this match, we had the option of using a lot of strong monsters since it had a high mana of 49 in total. Furthermore, all melee monsters would gain Sneak Attack and +2 Shield thanks to the ruleset. Among the elements there were 3 options: Water, Earth and Death. I chose water, making a mix of attack types, while the opponent also came up with this idea, but with the Earth element.

In this lineup I decided to use the coastal sentry and the disintegrator to attack in a sneaky way, while reducing the physical attack with the Disintegrator's delay and to attack the front-line I made a combo of Diemonshark with Djinn Oshannus and Supply Runner, giving 3 different attack types. Also, for defense, the Supply Runner has increased Speed to give more deflections and the shit will heal tanks.

👊 HOW WAS THE BATTLE? 👊

ROUND 0

At the beginning of the game, Kelya's speed buff and Lobb's debuff canceled each other out, leaving only +1 shield. But, soon after, the Supply runner increased his speed by +1 and the two Disintegrators reduced the Attack of the melee monsters.

You can see that in general the opposing team has its attacks concentrated on the backline, taking advantage of Sneak since the monsters have melee attacks.

ROUND START

While on my side the attack was divided between front and back, the opponent focused on attacking the backline and as I didn't focus on sneak attacks, his Spirit Hoarder managed to heal attacks quite efficiently, while Mycelic Morphoic dealt damage with the Thorns.

FINAL ROUND

Some of the opponent's attacks didn't hit, due to Kelya and Runner's double speed strategy, but even so, as there was a large number of attacks in the backline, my Runner soon fell and I lost the advantage of speed x2.

Even with Grund falling soon after, the opponent still had a lot of tanks and of course Quora is a card that just needs 1 bloodlust and it starts snowballing.

🤔 CONCLUSION 🤔

Source

What was missing in this battle was exactly the tip I gave above, which is to choose just one location to attack. I should have ignored the possibility of using Sneak and placed more monsters to attack the enemy front line. For the next battles, the important thing will be to analyze all the rulesets and consider the one that has the most impact when putting together the team.

Also, it's worth mentioning that I don't have many gladius or soulbound, so they are my focus at the moment to have more flexibility and be able to use my opponents' strategies.
