The FlyWheel is a model that was inspired by a part of the Luna system. The idea is to have a relatively stable currency in the game - important for NFTs games - to attract users from outside the crypto bubble who are not used to the volatility of tokens.

However, unlike Luna, Splinterlands has a different approach to maintaining the value of DEC when the market is down, which is to back it with Splinterlands Products. To achieve this, the value of the items sold by the company is in DEC, in a proportion of 1000 DEC = $1.

This strategy ensured that at the worst moment of the Bear Market the coin fell to $0.50, that is, much less than other cryptos fell.

The problem is that this idea only works as long as the game continues to release new products to be purchased by DEC, and what we saw was the Splinterlands team making several promises about new games, Lands and few of which were fulfilled, now that they are starting leaving the paper. So, you have to be very careful! There is a risk.

SPS -> DEC

But the team didn't think about the other scenario: "What if DEC goes up and goes above $1?", which is what happened at the time of the SPS Airdrop. Then they launched the SPS token and later the SPS to DEC Conversion tool. Thus, any extra value that is placed in DEC will go to SPS, as people could BURN SPS to earn DEC.

Also, when people start doing this, the supply of SPS will decrease which will theoretically make its price rise. And when the price goes up, more people will be interested in having Splinterlands products, as they are the main way to get SPS in the game. However, to get the Items, you need DEC and to have DEC you need to burn SPS, that's why it's a Wheel.

Briefly: Buy DEC to have products -> Burn SPS -> Increase the price of SPS -> Increase demand for products.

A FlyWheel é um modelo que teve inspiração em uma parte do sistema da Luna. A ideia é ter uma moeda relativamente estável no jogo - importante para os jogos nfts - para atrair usuário de fora da bolha crypto que não estão acostumadas à volatidade dos tokens.

Entretanto, diferente da Luna, o Splinterlands tem uma abordagem diferente para manter o valor do DEC nos momentos que o mercado estiver em baixa, que é lastreá-lo aos Produtos do Splinterlands. Para isso, o valor dos itens vendidos pela empresa são em DEC, em uma proporção 1000 DEC = $1.

Assim, todo valor extra que for colocado no DEC irá para o SPS, já que as pessoas poderam dar BURN em SPS para ganhar DEC.

Ainda, quando as pessoas começarem a fazer isso, o supply de SPS vai diminuir o que teoricamente vai fazer o seu preço subir. E quando o preço subir mais pessoas vão se interessar em ter produtos do Splinterlands, já que eles são a principal forma de conseguir SPS no jogo. Entretanto, para conseguir os Items, você precisa de DEC e para ter DEC você precisa queimar o SPS, por isso é uma Roda.

De forma resumida fica: Compram DEC p/ ter produtos -> Queima SPS -> Aumenta o preço do SPS -> Aumenta demanda por produtos.
