Let's talk about some Splinterlands situations. Number of active players and new players, SPS Stake yield and its value, team reduction and their future plans.

The amount of daily players playing splinterlands averages 180,000 and that number has been stable for a while. However on November 16th we saw the number of users hit a low of 146k. This could be explained perhaps due to the start of the season or a break/out of players. We still have to remember that a good percentage of these accounts are bots.

The amount of new players has remained low, with 350 accounts created on average, but with fewer accounts being made these last few days. As for the number of spellbooks sold, it is also low, which may explain the drop in revenue that the company presented today and that I will talk a little more about below.

😨 SPS: Price and Stake 🤑

Currently, SPS holders face two situations, one negative and one positive. The negative is in relation to the crypto market, which has been facing a prolonged bear market with no signs of improvement, always getting worse with atypical situations known as Black Swans. One such situation was the lack of liquidity of the 3rd largest crypto asset brokerage FTX, which led it to declare bankruptcy. This caused the market to lose confidence in crypto affecting the tokens.

One of the tokens affected was our beloved SPS, the Splinterlands governance token, which accumulated a 36.5% drop in this month alone, while in the year it has dropped around 90%. Thus, those who invested in the SPS and put it in stake saw their equity falling as the months went by. Today 1 SPS is worth $0.041, remembering that it has already hit more than $0,50.

However, we also have good news. SPS stake is currently paying 176% APR, which is quite attractive for the investor who believes in the game and the token. That percentage comes from the APR of the 26% stake, which pays out in SPS and Voucher, but most of it comes from the airdrop received in GLX in the Genesis League Sport game, which is partnered with Splinterlands. Also, if you decide to reinvest the earned GLX, you can receive more than 1900% APR on their stake. Amazing, huh? 🤑

Today, 17 November the splinterlands team sent a Post announcing to the community the reduction in 45% of your team. This measure was taken due to the continuation of the bear market and the reduction in the company's revenues.

Some may be alarmed by this news, but in my opinion it shows the long-term vision of the team, already preparing and cutting costs to face and overcome both the crisis in the crypto market, as well as the world crisis of inflation and war between Ukraine and Russia.

In addition, in this post they make it clear that their objective is to deliver what was agreed in the roadmap and that they believe that with a smaller team they will be able to focus more on what needs to be done. This last analysis got me thinking could it be that they have grown too much and failed to allocate teams efficiently? What do you think?

Another point mentioned was about the reduction in revenue mentioned in the post, it was not clear, as it was said right after the $1,000,000 sale of Lux Vegas. However, if we look at the fact that the number of new speelbooks is low and that there are no other launches scheduled for now, it means that there are no other immediate ways to raise money. Another strange point is that theoretically we already have many sources, but they are not meeting the demand that the splinterlands team is looking for. We've had a lot of sales recently beyond Lux, the 10M Chaos Legion Packs, Riftwatcher Packs, Runis and Tower Defense Packs. Out of all of these, only the Runis and Lux ​​were completed, none of the packs were fully sold out. Thus, as the team pointed out, players are also apprehensive about the market, failing to invest currently as they invested before.

Finally, the team announced two new additions to the roadmap. The first was a new experience for new players, seeking to encourage new entrants to the game. The other is in relation to Gameplay & Reward Updates, seeking among other things to deal with the advantages of bots in both high and low leagues. A quantidade de jogadores diários jogando splinterlands é na média de 180.000 e esse número vem se mantendo já tem um tempo. Entretanto em 16 de novembro vimos o número de usuários bater a mínima 146k. Isso pode ser explicado talvez por conta do início da season ou uma pausa/saída de jogadores. Ainda temos que lembrar que uma boa porcentagem dessas contas são de bots.

A quantidade de novos jogadores tem se mantido baixa, com 350 contas criadas na média, mas com menos contas sendo feitas nesses últimos dias. Já sobre a quantidade de spellbooks vendidos está igualmente baixa também, o que pode explicar a queda de receita que a empresa apresentou hoje e que vou falar um pouco mais sobre abaixo.

😨 SPS: Preço e Stake 🤑

Atualmente os holders de SPS enfrentam duas situações, uma negativa e outra positiva. A negativa é em relação ao mercado crypto, que tem enfrentado um bear market prolongado e sem sinais de melhora, sempre se agravando com situações atípicas conhecidas como Black Swans. Uma dessas situações foi a falta de liquidez da 3º maior corretora de crypto ativos FTX, que a levou a decretar falência. Isso fez com que o mercado perdesse confiança nas cryptos afetando os tokens.

Um dos tokens afetados foi o nosso querido SPS, o token de governância do Splinterlands, que acumulou só nesse mês uma queda de 36,5%, enquanto no ano caiu cerca de 90%. Assim, aqueles que investiram no SPS e o colocaram em stake viram seu patrimônico caindo conforme o passar dos mêses. Hoje 1 SPS vale $0,041, lembrando que já bateu mais de $0,5.

Entretando, também temos boa notícias. O stake de SPS está pagando atuamente 176% de APR, o que é bastante atrativo para o investidor que acredita no jogo e no token. Hoje, 17 Novembro o time do splinterlands enviou um Post anunciando a comunidade a redução em 45% de seu time. Essa medida foi tomada devido a continuidade do bear market e da redução de receitas da empresa.

Alguns podem se alarmar com essa notícias, mas na minha opinião isso mostra a visão de longo prazo do time, já se preparando e cortando gastos para enfrentar e superar tanto a crise no mercado crypto, como também a crise mundial de inflação e guerra entre Ucrania e Rússia.

Ainda, nesse post eles deixam em evidência que o objetivo deles é entregar o foi combinado no roadmap e que eles acreditam que com um time menor eles consigam focar mais no que precisa ser feito. Essa última análise me fez pensar será que eles cresceram demais e não conseguiram alocar os times de forma eficiênte? O que vocês acham?

Um outro ponto falado foi sobre a redução de arrecadação comentada no post, ela não ficou clara, pois foi dita logo após a venda de $1.000.000 de Lux Vegas. Entretanto, se olharmos que o número de novos speelbooks está baixo e quem não há nenhum outro lançamento previsto para agora, significa que não há outras formas imediatas de se arrecadar. Um outro ponto estranho é que teoricamente já temos muitas fontes, mas não estão tento a procura que o time do splinterlands procura. Tivemos muitas vendas recentemente além da Lux, os 10M Chaos Legion Packes, Riftwatcher Packs, Runis e Tower Defense Packs. De todos esses só os Runis e a Lux que foram concluídos, nenhum dos packs foi totalmente vendido. Assim, como o time pontuou, os jogadores estão também apreensivos com o mercado, deixando de investir atualmente como investiam antes.

Por fim, o time anuncionou duas novas adições ao roadmap. A primeira foi uma nova experiência a novos jogadores, procurando incentivar novos entrantes no jogo. Já a outra é em relação a Gameplay & Reward Updates, procurando dentre outras coisas lidar com as vantagens dos bots tanto em ligas altas quanto nas baixas. O "engraçado" é que eles estão lidando com um problema que eles mesmos deixaram acontecer e até certo ponto incentivam o uso de bots. O que achou sobre essas adições?

That's pretty bad data, especially since new users aren't increasing. I think there's going to be a bad time for splinterlands. The new users I showed the game to all stopped playing. Perhaps for new users it is no longer as good to play as it was two years ago. I believe that when the bear market ends, Splinterlands can bounce back

Hard questions are needed to be made. I think they focused to much on whales earning and forgot to made the game more like a game and also forgot about new players. If you compare with big games, spl has low player base and a small number of new players entering.

indeed I addressed this in an AMA several months ago and they threaten to ban with reply of new player rewards will never be re-instated while they continue to push them up... The AMA should be called a marketing pump session not Ask Me Anything... Their own explorer shows the proof of what you say is 100% true, 500k players and growing to now 200k daily and who knows where it goes from here...

I think Splinterlands is one of the ONLY "P2E" games out there with potential to survive to 2030 and beyond.

Really, what I'm most concerned for, is bad decision making from the team, and selecting or staying with bad fundamentals.
If your fundamentals, your foundation, the details most don't care for; if they are bad it WILL fail unless something has been changed. I've seen countless Coin/Chain, Game and NFT projects fall simply due to one bad decision on fundamentals from months prior.

It's crucial users have a voice, it's important that things are made clear, it's critical that too much power is being allocated to any one group.

Not to say Splinterlands has fumbled the bag already, but there are some changes in recent months that concern me in the long term, and simply the general worry of DAO's, Governance & Validators which is that I've yet to see one that is properly, effectively, fairly implemented. Including SL.

They were focusing too much on one part of the players (whales) and forgot the new players, with this, we are seeing a decrease in player base and that no new players are entering like in the past.
Who would like to play a game that use need $10 to start, then you need to buy a full deck to start earning at bronze, then you'll need 3x more investiment to get to silver full earn.

3 big reasons for the drops in players, mainly because of bots but also, it is harder now to actually earn. When they introduced that 'shadow' cards from the spellbook counted against you? Ouch. There went some bots and several players. Then they dropped DEC and forced 3 new 'card sets' on top of the soccer game down people's throats and then to top it all off? Now, even with my own play - we're getting this:

I mean, what kind of bullshit is that? Shouldn't I get a bonus for beating someone's ass that had maxed out cards with my lower level ones? Seems to me that leans more towards skill than anything and should be rewarded, not disciplined. So, I imagine more bots will vanish and the game is going to fade out as they make more stupid changes to it. There are other games coming now. You got #woo, @kingofduels, #cryptoshots and my favorite in the pipeline - #psyberx.

Every update this times are something to decrease or difficult the player's life. You mentioned 3 of them.
My only hope is that they don't become blind to see how new players are being treated. There were 2 new points added to the roadmap about new players and rewards, "MAYBE" something good will come out of it.
