Huge Progress In Minutes - Rental Experiment

For those of you who are active investors in Splinterlands or are seeking to become one, one of the best aspects of the game is the P2P rental market for cards.
Today, I decided that I would make a push and increase my deck power from around 7,000 to just over 40,000. My reasons for doing this are actually very simple; higher league = higher rewards and more chests on your daily quest.
The Experiment
In order to make this a (hopefully) profitable experiment, I ran some numbers and came up with a spreadsheet set that I think could be rather helpful in tracking progress.
The first aspect of the spreadsheet looks at daily costs and earnings from battling opponents.

My move up to Silver II cost me around 17.75/week that I rent this set at this cost; this of course can vary and rentals can be cut short, so the projections will likely not be so perfect, but between $17-$19 feels like a good margin of error to gain around 33,000 power.
The second aspect of this spreadsheet tracks the expected value of the loot chests I will receive for my daily quests:
I used https://www.splintercards.com/tool-lootchest.html to get the expected value of each chest as calculated here:

Then I plugged in these numbers and added the fact that we would earn 3 loot chests per day at the Silver II level:

Conclusion
At the Silver II level, we can expect that on average, earning the daily loot chests each day will provide a value of around $14.15
Knowing that this is the case and the startup cost per week is between $17-$19, it follows that on average we need to win around $4-5 in battles in order to simply break even. With rewards being between 10-20 DEC for wins at this level, we would need anywhere from 20-40 wins per week in order to make this a breakeven endeavor. I plan on playing quite a bit of Splinterlands and those numbers should be no issue to achieve; thus, I am hoping that this is a profitable experiment and that I pull some very valuable cards from the loot chests to make it an even more profitable endeavor.
The Trick
If you look at my chart you can see that I rented quite a lot of Djinn Biljka and Chromatic Dragons. The reason is that these are cheap and provide the most bang for your buck on the rental market right now. I picked up some solid legendaries to help me compete at a higher level, but the focus was always building up enough power cheaply in order to progress.
I will provide an update after this week on how the experiment went for me and whether or not you should consider doing something like this yourself.
If you would like a copy of the spreadsheet to use for your own rental experiments, just reach out and I can make you a view-only on the page or I can email you a copy!
Good luck to all and make sure to do some research on all of your investments whether they are Splinterlands or not!

Much appreciated! It's only day 1 so I can't promise any success, but it feels like I put a good amount of thought into this compared to most of my decisions lol

Something to remember is that it will require less and less rentals every week as you win and buy more cards.
You can build a deck and compete on your own cards in the future.
Fantastic point to add here, thank you for chiming in. Yes the goal is to reinvest the profits and thus make it cheaper to rent each week (barring rental prices skyrocketing of course). There is real progress to be made here

Sounds like an interesting experiment. Are you planning to keep your energy capture rate never full? It would require at least 24-25 fights per day to do so though.
