Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.
So today I wanted to do another card spotlight, and this time I picked a card that honestly doesn't get talked about much.
The card is, Skyspire Yak.
At first I didn't really think much about this unit. It's only a Common Life card, so it's easy to overlook when you're checking your collection. But after reading its abilities properly, I realized it can actually become a really annoying frontline unit if used in the right team.
Sometimes the simple cards end up surprising you the most.

Looking at the stats first, Skyspire Yak looks like a pretty solid defensive unit.
It comes with:
Mana Cost: 4
Melee Attack: 2
Health: 8
Armor: 2
Speed: 4
Good survivability for such a low mana cost
Nothing looks super crazy at first.
But once you read the abilities, that's where things become more interesting.
Especially considering this is only a Common card.

Armored Strike: If armored, gains a melee attack that deals damage equal to remaining armor.

The first ability is Armored Strike.
This ability is actually pretty cool.
If Skyspire Yak still has armor remaining, it gains an extra melee attack that deals damage equal to its remaining armor.
That means the more armor it keeps, the more damage it can deal.
So protecting its armor becomes really important.
If you pair it with units that repair armor or keep it alive longer, this ability can provide much more value than people expect.
I think lots of players ignore this because the card is common, but Armored Strike is definitely something worth paying attention to.

Heal: Each round, restores 1/3 of max health.

The second ability is Heal.
Every round it restores one-third of its maximum health.
Now this is what makes the card much stronger.
Instead of slowly getting worn down, Skyspire Yak can recover every round and stay on the battlefield much longer.
When a unit can both deal extra damage through Armored Strike and recover health every round, that's a pretty annoying combination to fight against.
Of course, Heal isn't unstoppable.
Affliction can stop it, and heavy burst damage can still bring it down.
But against balanced teams, Heal gives it really solid staying power.

Personally, I think Skyspire Yak works best in low to medium mana battles.
Since it only costs 4 mana, it doesn't eat up your team's mana budget.
That leaves room for stronger damage dealers behind it.
I could also see it working nicely in Life teams that focus on armor support.
If you can keep its armor active while Heal keeps restoring its health, it becomes much harder to remove than the stats suggest.
It's not the kind of monster card that wins games by itself.
Instead, it's one of those reliable cards that quietly does its job while the rest of your lineup finishes the battle.
Sometimes those cards are the most useful.

After spending some time looking at Skyspire Yak, I actually think it's a better card than I expected.
It's not flashy.
It isn't one of those expensive legendary monsters everyone talks about.
But for a Common Life unit, it offers a really nice combination of offense and defense.
Armored Strike rewards you for keeping its armor intact, while Heal helps it stay alive round after round.
Those two abilities work surprisingly well together.
I probably underestimated this card before.
Now I can definitely see myself using it more often whenever I need a solid low-mana frontline option.
Sometimes the cards that cost the least end up giving the most value.
Anyway thats it for todayβs #Splinterlands grind. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
