Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing great and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.
It's time for another card spotlight, and today I want to take a look at a card that honestly doesn't get talked about very much. The card is, Forlorn Geomant. At first glance, this card looks like a giant walking rock with some serious anger issues.
But after checking its stats and abilities, I think this card actually has a very specific role that can be extremely useful in certain battles.

Looking at the max-level version, the first thing that caught my eye was the stats.
Mana Cost: 13
Magic Damage: 5
Armor: 5
Health: 10
Speed: 3
Those are some pretty big numbers.
The mana cost is definitely high, so this isn't a card you'll use in every battle. But when mana isn't a problem, Forlorn Geomant can bring a lot of value.
Five magic damage is no joke.
That amount of damage can melt through enemy teams pretty quickly.

Impede: -1 to target's speed after each successful attack.

This ability might not look exciting at first, but speed is one of the most important stats in Splinterlands.
A slower enemy:
Misses more attacks
Attacks later
Becomes easier to hit
Over multiple rounds, Impede can become surprisingly annoying for your opponent.
Imagine reducing a fast enemy from 6 speed to 3 speed over a few turns.
That can completely change a battle.

Wingbreak: Always targets the first Flying enemy unit regardless of position, abilities, or modifiers. +2 damage if the target has Flying.

Honestly, this ability is pretty cool.
Most units attack whatever target the game normally assigns.
Forlorn Geomant doesn't care.
If there is a Flying enemy anywhere on the battlefield, this giant rock monster immediately focuses on it.
And then it deals extra damage.
That's actually a hard counter to many Flying units.

What I like most about Forlorn Geomant is that it feels different.
A lot of cards are designed to do general damage.
This card feels like a specialist.
If your opponent relies heavily on Flying units, this card becomes much more dangerous.
And let's be honest...
There are plenty of powerful Flying cards in #Splinterlands.
Having a dedicated counter can be extremely useful.
The combination of:
High magic damage
Wingbreak targeting
Speed reduction
Creates a unique package.

After looking at Forlorn Geomant, I think it's one of those cards that can surprise people.
It's not flashy.
It's not the most popular card.
But it fills a very specific role and does it well.
The massive 5 magic damage already makes it dangerous, and Wingbreak gives it a unique identity that few other cards have.
If your opponent loves Flying units, this giant rock Djinn might be exactly what you need.
And honestly,
A giant stone warrior throwing magical attacks at dragons and birds sounds pretty awesome.
Anyway thats it for todayβs #splinterlands grind. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)
I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
