Hello hivers! happy day ✌️😄
This time I made a common monster from the "rifwatchers" collection but the truth is that I really liked the character design.

En esta ocasión hice un monstruo común de la colección "rifwatchers" pero la verdad es que el diseño del personaje me gusto bastante.

Something that gave me a lot of trouble when making this character, was making the fire simulation, I don't know if something changed in Blender since the last time I worked on the fire simulation, but it didn't fit me, in the end I got a result more similar to smoke , but I liked it.
At the beginning my idea was to make a normal modeling, but after doing the upper part, I thought it would be better to use the sculpture to make more details and more resemble the texture of a tree.


Algo que me dio bastante problema al hacer este personaje, fue hacer la simulación de fuego, no se si algo cambio en Blender desde la ultima vez que trabaje simulación de fuego, pero no me quedaba, al final llegue a un resultado mas parecido a humo, pero me agradó.
Al inicio mi idea era hacer un modelado normal, pero tras hacer la parte de arriba, pensé que seria mejor usar la escultura para hacer mas detalles y se asemeje mas a la textura de un árbol.

After completing the base for the top, I began to sculpt the base of the tree, and I quite like the shape I got.


Luego de completar la base para la parte de arriba, comencé a esculpir la base del árbol, y me gusto bastante la forma que logre conseguir.

To finish with the sculpture, I made these kinds of intertwined roots that the monster has on its body, and then I made cracks or imperfections to give it the look I was looking for.


Para terminar con la escultura, fui haciendo estas especies de raíces entrelazadas que tiene el monstruo en el cuerpo, y luego le hice grietas o imperfecciones para dar el aspecto que buscaba.

Finally, I played a bit with the light and the nodes to get a texture more similar to a tree, and the last thing was to do the simulation, which was the most complicated thing for me this time.


para terminar jugué un poco con la luz y los nodos para conseguir una textura mas parecida a un árbol, y lo ultimo fue hacer la simulación, que fue lo que mas se me complico en esta ocasión.

Yeh particles can be annoying to get to look right XD I still haven't played with that type properly. Looks good :)

I got messed up with that hahaha. And another thing is that it doesn't work on my hdd, so I changed it to the sdd and hit ctrl+z, it took the hdd again and I hadn't realized that, it drove me crazy XD

I don't know what version/fork of Blender you might be using, I know with the more recent ones from Manjaro repos (which I believe is just the vanilla one) there was a bug where if you undo "too many" times (or maybe it's too fast or some combination thereof, I haven't tested properly) it crashes. I imagien that would exacerbate with particles as it seems to not like it if I go nuts undoing curve hair modifications.

I think this could look more awesome if you could make the fire particles more realistic.
Anyways, I've been playing the fire simulator too before and it is indeed time consuming and tricky to use. I haven't been able to produce a nice looking flame up to this day. 😁
