A Brawl That Wasn’t Mine, Yet Still Meaningful

Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!
If brawl were likened to a stage play, then this week I realized something clearly: I was not the main character. More like an extra who appears briefly, then fades back behind the curtain without much spotlight. But perhaps that’s just the rhythm of life in the Splinterlands arena—sometimes we’re at the center of the story, sometimes just a small part of a much bigger tale.
In the latest brawl with guild ClaNFT, I once again took my place in fray 12—a position that, for some reason, feels like home. Out of the six battles I actually played, the results weren’t exactly something to boast about. Only one victory truly came from strategy and execution on the battlefield. Another came from an opponent who chose to surrender. Two more… were wins without a fight. And the rest were losses—ones that had to be accepted, even if they left a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Yet behind those modest personal results, the guild stood firm. We managed to collect 270 points, recorded 90 wins, and finished the brawl in third place. The rewards still came in—47 Crowns, 2,350 Merits, and 25.62 SPS staked right away. Nothing extraordinary, perhaps. But enough to remind me that even small contributions still matter in a team’s journey.

Interestingly, it wasn’t the battle results that made my heart race the most this week—but what sat quietly in my “pocket.” From previous brawls, I had accumulated around 11,000 Merits. An amount that, when you think about it, is enough to open five Gladius Packs at once. It felt like holding five lottery tickets in my hand—torn between opening them immediately or savoring the moment a little longer. Curiosity, excitement, and a slight fear of disappointment all blended into one. And for now… I chose to wait. Because it feels like that story deserves a stage of its own.
Of everything that happened in the arena, it was that one simple victory that lingered the most. In that battle, I didn’t try anything complicated. Just a classic approach: healing in the front, healing in the back, and a taunt to draw attacks. But everything felt “alive” thanks to the Equalizer ruleset.

Equalizer changes everything. All monsters share the same large pool of HP, turning usually fragile support units into surprisingly durable ones. That’s where the simple strategy found its momentum. The taunt absorbed endless attacks, healing kept the frontline standing, and the backline remained safe to keep applying pressure. Nothing flashy, no strange combinations—but enough to secure the win. And strangely, it’s victories like this that feel the most satisfying.
From that, I learned something simple, yet often forgotten: not every win needs to come from a complicated strategy. Sometimes, basic combinations executed at the right moment are more than enough. Especially in an ever-evolving meta filled with new cards and possibilities—simplicity can become an unexpected weapon.
And maybe, that’s what I feel about this guild as well. A place of learning that doesn’t say much. No long lectures, no layered theories. We just observe, try, lose, and then quietly understand. From there, we learn discipline without being forced, strategy without being taught, and acceptance without being told.

This brawl may not have been entirely mine. But that one small victory was enough to remind me that there’s always something to take home—even if it’s not in the form of numbers. And at the end of the story, there’s still a promise waiting to be opened: five Gladius Packs sitting neatly, like a vow yet to be fulfilled.
Because in the end, in Splinterlands, we’re not just chasing victories. We’re collecting stories—sometimes simple, sometimes bitter, but always worth remembering.
See you in the next story. Hopefully next time, luck won’t just pass by—but will stay a little longer.
