A Small Mistake, Big Impact: I Missed the Brawl!
![]()
Warm greetings, arena warriors! May your spirit keep burning strong amid the onslaught of increasingly “insanely” powerful new cards from the Escalation series in Splinterlands. Moments like this are when our mindset is truly tested—not just strategy, but consistency.
Speaking of consistency… that’s exactly where my brawl story this time begins. And honestly, this isn’t a heroic tale full of victories. It’s more of a “costly lesson learned due to my own negligence.”
Usually, I’m quite disciplined in this area. But somehow, this week’s brawl completely slipped past me.
Yep… that’s right. I forgot to submit my team.
At first, I thought I still had time. As usual, I was relaxed, assuming the deadline was still far away. But over the past few days, I got caught up with activities outside the game. And when I finally opened the game again, ready to fight…
Time was already up.
How did it feel? A mix of shock, frustration, and a bit of laughing at myself.

Since I didn’t submit any team at all, I obviously didn’t actually battle. But interestingly, I was still recorded as contributing 1 win.
Not because of a brilliant strategy. Not because of an amazing lineup.
But because… one opposing guild also left their slot empty 😅
So yeah, a free win. But it felt empty.
On the other hand, my guild CLANFT still performed quite solidly. We managed to secure 3rd place, earning rewards:
- 41 Crowns
- 2,050 Merits
- 18.52 SPS (staked)
Unfortunately, I didn’t receive those rewards because I didn’t actively participate.
And that’s the part that really hit me.
It’s not about losing. It’s about not even showing up to fight.
Sometimes Your Biggest Enemy Is Yourself
If I usually lose because of bad strategy or misreading the ruleset, this time the cause was much simpler:
Myself.
No opponent to blame. No confusing new meta.
Just one thing: negligence.
And honestly, this was a strong reminder that in a game like Splinterlands—where timing and events matter—discipline is just as important as skill.

What hit the most was seeing my guildmates still fighting hard and successfully bringing CLANFT to third place.
Of course, I felt proud.
But at the same time, there was also this feeling:
“I should’ve been able to help more.”
If only I had filled my slot, maybe the final result could’ve been different. Maybe we could’ve ranked higher. Or at the very least, my contribution would’ve mattered.
That’s when I realized even more that Brawls aren’t just about individuals—they’re about team responsibility.
And for new players, this is very important to understand:
- Joining a guild isn’t just about rewards
- It’s about commitment and contribution
- Even one empty slot can affect the overall outcome
Closing
This brawl might have been one of the “quietest” experiences for me, because I didn’t even get to fight. But from that, I learned something important.
In Splinterlands, it’s not just about who’s the strongest—but who’s the most consistent.
My advice for you:
👉 Submit your team as soon as the Brawl starts—don’t wait.
👉 Treat every slot as important, because it truly impacts the guild.
👉 And most importantly, enjoy the process—win or lose, what matters is showing up and fighting.
Hopefully in the next brawl, I can “make a comeback”… of course, in a more responsible way 😄
See you in the next arena, warriors! ⚔️
