FIRE & REGRET RULESET | BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge!
![]()
Hello card lords of the Splinterlands, good day.
Join us once more for the BATTLE MAGE SECRETS weekly challenge. In this post, I'll talk about the battle rules you might have encountered while fighting in the Splinterlands. If you don't know the rules, it's very challenging to predict the fight in Splinterlands. Because a lot of people still believe that a strong card will make the battle easy to win. But that is not how things are. If a card doesn't follow the battle's rules, it can be easily defeated.
As a result, this week's theme is "discussing the FIRE & REGRET ruleset." This rule requires the archer monster to get back the attack it sent to the adversary.
FIRE & REGRET
If you come across battle rules like the icon above, there are a few things you should be aware of.
As a result of what will happen:
- The ability to return fire will be given to all monsters on the battlefield as extra skills. That is, arrow-wielding monsters will suffer damage from their own reflected arrow attacks.
- Half of the archer's initial attack is bounced back. The magnitude of the counterattack increases with the size of the initial attack.
- The reflected attack will not harm the archer monster if it possesses the Reflection Shield skill.
- The damage will be amplified by the nearby monsters' Amplify skill ability.
- If not properly cared for, archer monsters will suffer under this ruleset.
- If you have an archer monster with martyr ability, you can use this to your advantage. Specifically, archer monsters will be sacrificed and placed in the middle of our monsters' abilities will be strengthened.
If other battle rules go along with the FIRE & REGRET rules, you must focus on getting those rules in sync so that you can win.
RULES AND TACTICS
So, let's look at how this rule was applied in the battle I was in:

Two rules apply in this fight: FIRE & REGRET and EQUAL OPPORTUNITY. This means that you must choose the right monster to send into battle with 19 points of mana. The elements of fire, water, and life are permitted to be used in this battle.
I wanted to use that choice to turn the disadvantage of using archer monsters into an advantage for my monsters. Specifically, by dispatching archer monsters with martyr abilities. A skill that causes the monsters around the martyr monsters to increase their attack and speed.

So the lineup I sent included a summoner with trampled effects, reach, and the addition of two health points. Specifically, the summoner POSSIBILUS THE WISE. While I rely on COASTAL SENTRY as a striker, its abilities will be enhanced by the sacrifice of the Martyr monster, the VENARI MARKSRAT. The supporters are led by TORRENT FIEND, who flanks the VENARI MARKSRAT.
Aside from the FIRE & REGRET rules, EQUAL OPPORTUNITY applies in this battle, allowing all melee monsters to attack from any position to find the enemy with the fewest health points. And I'm hoping that by including VENARI MARKSRAT, which has low health points, it will become a target for enemy monsters to attack. Even if he does not become the enemy's target, VENARI MARKSRAT will be knocked out by himself every time he attacks with arrows.

COASTAL SENTRY, with his high speed and attack power, can eliminate two opponent monsters with low health points at the same time in the early rounds. Meanwhile, the opposing monsters are focusing their efforts on TORRENT FIEND. When a VENARI MARKSRAT attacks an ANTOID PLATOON, a counterattack is launched, reducing the VENARI MARKSRAT's health points. The rebound, however, did not eliminate VENARI MARKSRAT from the fight.

VENARI MARKSRAT was knocked out by a series of attacks from enemy monsters. which causes the Martyr effect to be activated. Of course, that boost COASTAL SENTRY's attack and speed. COASTAL SENTRY was able to finish off the remaining opposing monsters one by one with the addition of this attack power, allowing me to win this fight.
The following battle link shows how the battle progresses:

FINAL THOUGHTS
As seen in the battle above, using archer monsters in the FIRE & REGRET rules will almost always cause the attacker to take damage. However, in certain circumstances, such as when using archer monsters with martyr skills, this rule can be advantageous in and of itself.
I combined the abilities of EQUAL OPPORTUNITY and FIR & REGRET into a lethal COASTAL SENTRY attack. COASTAL SENTRY becomes the final target of enemy attacks by taking advantage of high health points. whereas installing VENARI MARKSRAT, which is against FIRE & REGRET rules, makes it a target that must be killed or commit suicide. This will cause the remaining monsters to gain the martyr skill.
And it was a success because of the plan. With this limited mana battle, I was able to improve COASTAL SENTRY's ability to finish off the remaining opponent monsters. The arrow attacks' counterattack ability was discovered to be used for personal gain. Of course, this is true if the archer possesses the martyr's ability.
